Sign a Rama in Florida was actually closed yesterday, Columbus Day. I tried calling to find my second set and got the recorded message…

I have never seen a business closed on Columbus Day that was not some sort of government entity or closely tied to Wall Street…perhaps they are part of the latter companies

    Ron,

How are you charging for those jobs? Also, with white grout that is dirty, how do you get it white again? Thanks, Dave

After most all t&g jobs, I promise myself not to quote any more… Kind of like the bumper sticker, “I’d rather bee fishing”… “I’d rather be carpet cleaning”

I hate cleaning white grout…it is nearly impossible to get white and clean looking.

    Gary,

Look up Bay City, MI on the Heavens Best website. Maybe you should chang name to Bay County or something else…you are not being listed. Cody or John should help on this.

    Brian,

Thanks for the update. Did not know that little tid bit. By splitting the pads as described ad nauseum, the pad spins faster and more pressure can be applied.

    Thanks for your info.

the green stripe pads, making two single side pads from one double sided pad.

No idea…been using ours since before Cody offered and still work. We DO NOT use the plain white pads since they bunch up and wrinkle and do not work at all. They are junk.

Might try postings in grocery stores and any place that has a bulletin board and stick your business cards there, maybe some brochures as well.

    Talk to seniors organizations.

Chat with the home office about how to get on the website…I went there and you are not coming up on the Bay City, MI location. BIG GLITCH! How could anyone know you are there if they can’t find you? Give out a business card with the website on it and someone looks it up and your name does not appear, they just might think you are scamming them.

Clean for friends and relatives. Get referrals.

    Hope this may help you.

By using the spilt pads, we have little problem with spinning, except on thick pile carpet on steps…then a little more difficult to get it to spin. But splitting the pads is the secret…another is the buffer is too low in power at 1/3 hp.
We should be using a 1/2 hp machine.

On commercial, low pile carpet, using a split pad allows the pad to spin freely. Absolutely no one in the organization has said a word about even trying to sacrifice a pad to see if what I am saying works. We have been doing it for almost exactly 3 years now and it works!

    Dave,

That is exactly why I split the pads in half. In order to reduce the frictional loss and the weight of the pad. It does rotate using 1/2 the pad only and we follow up with a quick hand cleaning and vacuming of the back and sides of the step…get $45 per set of stairs and do much better than HWE.

The Oreck also, “puffs up” the crushed carpet fibers to a great degree. After either vacuuming or raking, they almost look like new. I NEVER will use a large buffer on steps again…too cumbersome and major accident waiting to happen. Someone will one day use one and fall down the steps and hopefully live…but be sorry they misused the buffer that way. Hopefully, I am wrong about someone actually falling, but I nearly did once or twice.

Nobles (Tennant) would never condone the use I am sure. Especially on the narrow tread steps. Very unstable and unsafe and too dangerous in my opinion…

The HB sold Oreck should rotate. If you turn it over and watch the plate, it should rotate and oscillate. It will not rotate very well, if at all witht he green striped pad however. Too much frictional loss to the working side of the pad. I cut the edging of my pad and made 2 pads from one and that way, you have a lighter pad, less frictional loss and it rotates more easily.

This had been shared many months ago.

    Hope this helps.

Beware of leather period…We will not touch at all. Dan came back from class pumped about leather and suggested I am leaving money in some homes…. Well, perhaps I am. But not my money in their pockets from mine.

Unless you are a leather expert, be careful…some of it is very, very expensive to replace.

Learn from Brian. Great advice Brian…thanks, and wish you the bestin your trading….might look into atrade with the furniture store. have cleaned one here two times now.
