Everyone likes to feel appreciated. A Thank You card with Franchises Available mentioned would be great, and this could easily be in additon to a two part evaluation card, a personalized letter announcing we’re 3 for 3, our business cards that state Franchises Available, etc.

Agreed. Once a month with 1 – 2 hours and a clear agenda.

Ron, congrats on the closings, and good luck with the potentials! Can you share some information regarding the new franchises? From where did the leads come? What are the ages of the new owners, and briefly, what is their employment background? How did they hear about HB? Thanks.

I’ve offen thought a “punch card” may be a good way to generate new customers, and as Ron stated, grow the biz exponentially. For example, offer the customer the opportunity to have their carpets cleaned (up to a specified limit) for free after they have referred 5 new customers and those jobs are booked. The customer is motivated and happy, and we’ve increased our client list by 5. Just another spin on Ron’s great idea.

    Dave,

You probably don’t know how good it feels for others here on the board (more specifically, me) to hear you say that. I enjoyed getting to know you and your son at the Vegas convention. It was my pleasure, and I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks for your wonderful comments. I too will say thanks to Cody, as well as to Dennis (Dirtbag) and Janice (Mrs. Dirtbag).

Thanks Sutton. Talk to Twain last night. She wanted me to finance a franchise for her; she just spent her last $50K on pushup bras. I told her, “No way man!” And don’t even bother with my other Canadian friends. Brian Adams is too busy trying to get on American Idol, Celine Dion is paying her husband’s gambling debt in Vegas, Anne Murry is in rehab, and John Candy is dead. I don’t know who else is left to buy a franchise. And we were doing so good there. Hey, didn’t Elton John just marry a Canadian lad? Maybe I’ll check in with them.

Take care Sutton, and thanks again.

    Our marketing challenge…

Have we as state owners explored and exhausted personal/perfessional contacts? We know from experience this is the most effective method for selling franchises. This has been repeated over and over again by Cody. How can we do this better? Have we all sent the new info packs to family, friends and city owners with a letter of some sort? Should we share samples of those letters? Is there some way of increasing our contact base? We all have family and/or friends in other states (or countries); can we more effectively/efficiently make those contacts available to the appropriate state owners? Lara (my wife) and I will continue to work on our list of people we know in the states and will contact the appropriate state owners with in the next couple weeks.

Have we made the most of the internet for selling franchises. This is a work in progress. We (Heaven’s Best) benefit from search engine results, Google AdWords, our web site, and franchise “warehouse” websites such as Franchise50.com that list our franchise. We as state owners can really only utilize internet advertising using methods such as AdWords; other methods of internet advertising is cost prohibitive for individual state owners. AdWords is a viable option for us. As I stated previously…I’ll keep you updated regarding the results we obtain.

“Dog and Pony Show” Ron has demonstated this works. So what are the options for getting some sort of standardized A/V presentation created that will work in a variety of settings, i.e. bigger city/centers and smaller communities? Do we have a set A/V presentation with the abilility to “tailor” the pre and post to suit the greographical region as well as the individuals organizing the “show”? Smitty, the Ferris’s, Dirtbag, Ammon, and Lorraine have stated interest; who else is interested? Smitty and the Ferris’s have suggested content and structure ideas; any additions/comments?

    Other options and ideas?

In the medical field, we have a simple 4 step process…Access, Plan, Implement, Re-evaluate. It’s an ongoing process. As for the funding…lets cross that bridge once we get to it. When we have our plan, we’ll agree on how to spread the expense in an equitable way.

    Fun stuff! Exciting Times Indeed!!

There has been referance made a couple of times to the Google AdWords. Here’s my two cents. The AdWords seem to be a great asset or part of the whole Marketing Plan. Though they have yet to result in an actual sale, they are definately drawing interest, and they are most definately assisting to raise brand name recognition (the name “Heaven’s Best” is visible for any and all to see). I honestly believe it’s only a matter of time before we sell a franchise as a result of the AdWords. They are not “free”, and only time will tell what the ROI will actually be. I will keep you informed.
