I own a Large county covering 4518 sq miles, when I want to move into a area (by choice or when a customer calls) I ask them to let there friends and niebors know I will be in there area on the date seleceted usualy 2 weeks out so I may fill the day there. I usualy end up a full day, then the referals start comming in and I keep doing that same prosess untill I can fill a day once a week. the only down side right now is there is not enough days in the week, so in the spring I will be looking for a full timer to come on board 🙄Larry youngParticipanthey mike thanks for sharring your packet, would-could corporate put it on there server? that would save yopu alot of time.

I give them a large spotter, 5+ business cards and one magnetic one. as we are doiong the final walk through i head my way back to the kitchen, exoplain that the bottle is my gift for them for refearing there friends and familys, Business cards and a spotter are very inexpensive. then after our normal chit chat I shake there hand thank them again for there business and refearals. well you have a GREAT day.
PatLarry youngParticipantIt is Ironic, today I went to give an estimate, i explained our process then said and when I get done I will then apply a protectent, the custemer politely saiod he doent want it applied I asked why he said the possibility of it causing cancer. I said no prob, I understand your conserns and that I was going to go do some research on it. scheaduked the job same price, so I wont loose any revenue in it, then I come to the forum to ask questions on the subject and its up on 2 threads started today. I am nervouse now.

Larry youngParticipantWhen I say I never turn down a job, I do give them a price that they are not willing to pay. Most of those urine jobs (in my area anyway) are priced to high just at my current rate of .40 a sqaure foot. The jobs I have been doing that require the pet treatment are usualy just one or two accidents spots and I don’t charge any extra it takes me at the most a half an hour extra to take care of it. on the exxsesive nasty jobs I just tell them it will be done at my hourly rate of $100 an hour, and give them a ball park on the time it will take, and tell them while I will provede the best service I can, and use everything in my arsesonal I still cant gaurntee any smell or discoloration issues they have. I also am only advertising in the phone books this year, and ask my clients to spread the good word. one customer alone refered me out to the tune of 3000 dollars brought in last month. I just wanted to realy emphize the respect thing.
on a side note I am picking up my new van in rexburg on Monday oh happy days!!!

PatLarry youngParticipantI Don’t turn jobs down, I charge so I average 100 an hour, If there willing to pay the bill, I smile and sing when I work. I know that most all of you are venting here on the forum wich is a great place to do it, But I’ll say it anyway ALWAYS treat your customers with respect (while still being honest) we don’t need to tell them that our chicken coops are cleaner then there houses. One Job like the forementioned in particular has put me into a $600,000+ home of of a referal. Keep up the good work, and charge accordingly!

Larry youngParticipantI have been building my bussiness by word of mouth and have come to the same conculsion they just love to tell there friends and familys Just make sure you always do an awsome job, they are putting there reputation with yours.
