I have heard rumors that we might be the only or one of the few company that is company endorses. If so that would be one more thing that sets apart for the competition. I am anxious to see what the future holds.

I have talked to the stake president and facility manager as well and yes if will be very hard to get them. I walked into on one day and saw that is was horrible and later found out that someone had spilled a gallon of syrup and the company that cleaned it had been there 6 time to clean it up. He said I wouldn’t be able to clean it up. I told that I could and talked to the stake president to see if I could clean it for free and just try. I was bugging me that my churches carpet was so dirty. I cleaned it and it looked better. I tried and nothing came of it. I know Cody and come others have tried and I think maybe even did some biding. I haven’t heard about the HWE though. Hopefully some day when we get bigger as a whole.

Both great comments, good ideas, and great openers. I have a list of churches with some names. I thought about writing them a letter that would introduce us and then following up with a phone call the following week. I haven’t really tried to stop in and hey. Just throwing around ideas and wanted to see what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the input.

Whenever someone tells me that they are working to other franchise owners I will ask where and get a name. Then I will call up that franchisee and ask the how things are working rather that listening to the salesman.

They next time he gets sent home for the day. the next time a week, and the next termination. I can’t have this. Thanks for the responses.

Thanks for the quick responses I have thought of that but he doesn’t take bad criticism very well meaning he gets mad and would yell at you if you weren’t his boss. I will have to do the talk. That’s is what everyone is saying.

Rain does stink we just had a two full days of almost not letting up for that time. I will take that but the phone sure didn’t ring much. But school is starting again this week that might of been some of it.

I have never sub contracted rug cleaning out. I do know that IICRC does offer a class on it. The only person that I have talked to that has taken the class is Dave Devlin in Denver. The way that he has explained it is very time consuming and expensive. I assume sub contracting this out would be of very little money making and not worth the time and effort. This said I haven’t checked this out either.

What was your solution? This is the only thing that I don’t like about the hoover. But love the vacuum and durability of it.

A few things. I am 29 I sweat more now than I ever have in my life. When I stretch carpet it is the time when I sweat the most. I agree with whipping yourself off or maybe they’ll think you worked really hard and that they got one heck of a deal ha ha. Later on when you can hire someone so they can do all the hard work that makes you sweat. I always have an undershirt on and that seems to help a bit. I know it another layer, but also its another layer to absorb the sweat before it goes into the nice button up. You will get used to it eventually.

That is a great idea I don’t have very good luck with the emails the ones that I have i just called them because I have never booked a job by responding to email I tried to do there preferred method of contact. No one has bit my head of yet for calling them back. The only other way I think to have better success the emails is to maybe have a phone that can receive emails, but then your looking at a different phone if you don’t have that plus internet service with you provider. I think the first idea is the best.

Sorry for the late response we moved and just now got the internet hooked up. I got lucky and got the training from my father in-law and he installed carpet for 8 years. I have been doing it a little here and there when people ask for it or when I say that I can fix that. I did spend a little more than dave did but I have everything you need to do a complete installation although that’s not what I am doing but it allows me to do the repair right. I do recommend taking some kind of class from some one that knows what they are doing. It will help you speed up the process and fix things the right way. Really the main reason for me doing this is that there are other carpet cleaners that do this as well. One more thing to set us apart from the rest.

Thanks for all the replies. I got another shipment in today and there they were a small hand full of them. I looked at all of them and some lady said the only thing that she had negative is that she thought that should be stamped. That’s one in each shipment for the past two shipments. I tell people that you can do it online but don’t get a whole lot that do that. I think I will stamp everyone from now on. That way they will feel a little more obligated to send it in.

I’ve some what wanted to do the same with HWE but so I could get the insides scoop on the company and see what the competition is really doing. That does stink if that what he what’s to do is copy us. I did a job today with a water restoration company that either was too busy to clean the carpets after the water damage or couldn’t get the water stains out. I don’t know they just looked in the phone book and gave me a call. Didn’t even ask about prices. Don’t know what that was about but I will take it. There is different restoration company that refer the restoration stuff to. He doesn’t like to clean carpets so in return he gives me all of those.

You learn things new everyday I usually mix my fresh scent 1:16. I thought that was the recommended mixture. I have had great results with that mixture. I have mixed it stronger before of course but the 1:16 is my default mixture. Is the too dilute?????
