Yes that is true. It was just before the seminar. Apparently some antitrust issues. But they do have a new replacement. I don’t remember his name, perhaps if he is watching this post he could introduce himself?
HBplantcityflaParticipantHey Grant~
That is awesome! I have just been waiting for a post like yours. I have been trying flyers and a few things like that with realtors but can really never get any of them to bite on good. That sounds like an excellent idea. Could you email me what you have been sending out? Both the original and the follow up email? I would really appreciate it. My email address is heavensbest@mtaonline.net. Thanks!Baden
HBplantcityflaParticipantHello everyone!
I am so excited that this has picked up. I cleaned Famous Footwear about a month and a half ago. Here is how they figure it out. They take the total square footage of the store and figure about what percentage is carpet, I dont , they do. Then they tell me what it is. For example both of my stores were about 5400 square feet. 60% of that was carpet so that comes out to be about 3300 square feet. They pay 10 cents per square foot so I recieved 660 for the 2 jobs. They also asked that I mop the tile. That part was pretty easy. They said nothing about grout lines or expected me to even clean them. So I lightly sprayed and I mean very lightly, the tile and buffed it. Only took a few minutes to do and shined up wonderfully.
When considering this job though remember this: BE PREPARED FOR A MILLION GUM SPOTS. I cant tell you how much time I spent on candy and gum and crap. Had I taken a little more notice of it, I would have renegociated the price. Anyway, if you have any questions, PLEASE call me. If you are not sure if it is worth it, also PLEASE call me. 10 cents doesn’t seem like much and it really isn’t, but it really wasn’t too bad. My cousin and I together made about $100 per hour. Still well worth it. Honestly I have made better money on dirty jobs like those but it was very slow during that time and let me tell you, it looked pretty good getting that check in the mail.
That brings me to another point, make sure that you sent in the invoice THE SAME DAY as you do the work. Capitol Contractors say that they will send out a check 30 days after the invoice comes in. AND THEY WAIT THE FULL 30 DAYS. Stinks, but it is politics. Well I have said enough, Questions? Call me 907-357-6840HBplantcityflaParticipantSpeaking of cold climates……. We ordered our van before there was a good deal with the dealer in Rexburg. Let me tell you, I had them put eurathane fome on the inside of the van and it helps soooo much. I have gone into a job when it was -30 outside for 3 hours and come back afterwards to a fairly warm van. I also have AWD, rear heat, and an engine block heater. I went a little more and put a junction box in to be able to run electricity to the back of the van. When I bought it, we didn’t have a garage. I plugged in the front of the van for the engine block heater and had 2 space heaters running in the back. The electric bill was about a 100 to 150 more per month, but It was only for about 3-4 months. So if you live in a cold climate like me and have any questions, please call me 907-357-6840. I am not a cold weather expert, but I can sure try to help you out.
HBplantcityflaParticipantCould you send us one here too Dennis? Its heavensbest@mtaonline.net Thanks a million
HBplantcityflaParticipantAnchorage, ALASKA, and anyone that comes gets a free fish fillet. Can’t beat that can you? Seriously though, if any of you come here on your summer vacations look us up.
HBplantcityflaParticipantNot sure, I haven’t really used Photoshop. But I would assume that since they are on a “.ai” format they would only be compatable with Illustrator.
HBplantcityflaParticipantThe FTP site has those. They are in an Adobe Illustrator format.
HBplantcityflaParticipantYeah seems like there was some snake in there too?!?!? Hey I wonder if they also sell those tall blue drinks that you light on fire there?
HBplantcityflaParticipantWe will be there from the 30th at around 2 until the 2nd in the morning. Not much time, I know. Aside from going to the grocery store, are there affordable places to eat at? Honestly I have been there but only to Henderson,, and we never went to the Strip. Also has anyone been on the roller coaster at New York New York? Looks cool but I couldn’t find anything out about online.
HBplantcityflaParticipantWorks from here Den. Check your caps.

Thanks Mike, I would like to see those proposals. I’m sure they can help, email your information to me. I appreciate it
And thanks again.Could you send them here too? My email is bruthus@excite.com
Thanks, BadenHBplantcityflaParticipantThe expensive software package that Cody talks about is called Adobe Illustrator. The latest version can be purchaced at http://www.softwareking.com for $178.49 not including shipping. That is absolutely the cheapest that I could find. If you buy direct from Adobe it is 499 and Ebay around 300. I have invested in it so that I may create my own “camera ready” ads. For example, I am going to be doing a double truck ad in the next yellow pages. I will be going to the FTP site and taking the example ad from it, modifying the numbers, locations, and a few bullets and then send them the whole file just as it is. I will then ask for 1 proof of it so that I may confirm that they recieved the exact same file. I am absolutely sick of my ads getting messed up and losing revinue because of it. I am 100% sure that it will pay for itself soon. This is just an idea for some of you out there who feel comfortable with computers. 😀
HBplantcityflaParticipantOn the same note, I have a question about the Wax and Shine, why do we have it, and does it do the same as the grout treater?
HBplantcityflaParticipantI have never done a newsletter but am very interested in doing it. I have a couple of questions to post to all though:
1) Do you send it to your businesses that you clean?
2)Where do you get your information to put in? This has been one of the drawbacks for me. Having to come up with 2+ whole pages of information each month seems like it would take me a week just to research it out. -
