ParticipantLike Devlin says,
Be careful with the stipulations you put on your prize. I think it is a great idea.

ParticipantThat is what’s great about that “protected area” we all have. Hopefully these guys will buy up Heaven’s Best franchises and we will take over the world one carpet at a time. 😉
We need to bring them to the Force, away from the dark side. he he.

ParticipantCody had no intention on selling us. I can’t speak for him tomarrow but I know that is not the plan. We are a privately owned company and don’t need Giant Corporate America Stock Brokers telling us what to do. That is my opininion on the subject Jeff.

ParticipantI agree with all of you; to a certain extent. Just because you shop there doesn’t make you a trader to Heaven’s Best. Honestly, they will see and will rethink I believe. I shop at the Depot becuase of the issue of distance compared to Lowes. What I have done is that when I see someone with one of those “flyers” or looking to buy carpet, tile for some, then I give them a card and guarantee my price and service will be better. I know I can beat their price becuase if you call that number on the reciept, they will give you the price for however many rooms. I called and asked about 3 rooms and regardless of size and condition, it was $150.00. I charge $105.00 for 3 rooms and all the extras are included like pet stain removal, heavy duty stains, odor, etc. The unknowledgeable operator on the other end of the line just gave me the 150 price for the 3 rooms but could not tell me how much with pet stains, deoderization, disinfecting, etc. She said they could tell me this when they get there. I said no thanks. See guys, no worry on the Home Depot thing. Other than the call center customer service lady with no idea on how to clean a carpet, the menu is very hard to get through. When I called I went through all the menus manually and by voice activation and had to call back 3 times before I got someone from the “chem dry” part of Home depot. So, chill out, don’t worry, they can’t hang. That is why they got bought out. I have a question from you guys though. I noticed today, as the new phone books came out today, that the 2 chem drys here in south Tex have local numbers and seem to operate on an individual basis. So did Chem Dry buy the name or the franchise as a whole? Help me out on this one.

ParticipantSo far,
We have only done Naturalizer, s shoe store franchise nationwide. It was about 300 square feet. They paid $125 plus tax. That comes out to .41 psf. There was a few pieces of gum and high traffic was nasty but only took about an hour to do. That is worth it to me. So on the 1st job I paid back the insurance add for Cap-Cleaning.
Next job will be Famous Footwear, another big shoe store franchise, their corporate office wants 450 of thier stores cleaned by the middle of April. This store wants to pay us $250.00 plus tax. We have scheduled an appointment with the manager to go look at it and measure. I hope is small like this last one. If it is not worth 250 then I will decline and trust me, Monica will understand.
So I hope this gives a better understanding to some of you. There is only 1 famous footwear here in South Texas. Some of you in other big cities may rund across 3 or 4 at a time. I know in North Texas, there are atleast 4 famous footwears in my old hometown.
The Naturalizer store had 2 down here, but the other one is brand new and will be cleaning in a few months.
I strongly believe that sometimes you will make more than what you would have qouted it for and sometimes maybe not, but I think it is a good marriage between us and them.
I will continue this post as more jobs come in. I hope some of you do the same. So, so far, we have:
Naturalizer

ParticipantLet’s see, without knowing what all is done, I will go out on a limb here and say $30 a spot or more. Just a guess. What will you guys charge? If not sure, then just guess.

ParticipantLoren, that is correct. If you are a sole proprietorship then you do not have to carry WC. If you don’t have any employess, you do not need WC, regardless of sole prop, s-corp, inc., etc…. Yes Gary, it does vary so check anyways, but if no employess, then don’t worry. We did the letter as Loren mentioned above. R Smith, don’t worry about it Boss man, it is all good. I spoke with Monica and she is happy to have so many of you. Keep something in mind though when jumping on board guys. You could get a lot of work, a little, stay steady with this or have none from them. If in a rural area then I suggest that you may reconsider. It doesn’t hurt to try. I have over a half million in my area and almost every franchise you can think of so it was a no brainer. One thing I don’t like is that a lot of these big corporates that schedule with her only clean once a year and you can offer to clean more often but again, I hope it works out for most of you. Like I said before, we added them to insurance for $125 and made that back on the first job, and now we have Famous footwear to schedule and just found out Friday that another one is coming up due. One more thing to let you guys know is that you all may want to e-mail Monica. It is a little easier for her to respond and answer all of your questions. When I posted this, Heaven’s Best lit up the switch board over there, which is great, she said so her self, but did mention the e-mail as I just stated above. Let me know how things turn out for all of you.
God Bless all of you,
Mike
