From the scripture Proverbs 22:7, the borrower is a slave to the lender. I have found that I could expand any way I wanted as long as I did not have any debt. Just bought my second van debt free. 2005 ford E150 with 13,200 miles. I got it for 11,900 that is right 11,900. The Lord provides so well for me.

We vacuum, spray with 101, buff. If you really want to get the last particle of dirt you can use a finishing towel. Sometimes we do sometimes we do not. I have been charging about 15 cents a square foot. Only done two jobs so I am not sure if this is enough.

Guardsman emailed us about doing some work for them. We have booked one job after only one week. If you want more information you can go to http://www.valspar.com. They send you a job you take it or decline it if you are too busy. They then allow you so much time to do a particular job. Our first job is a chocolate spot on a dining room chair. They allow 1 hour for the job. So we will charge 80 if we get it out and 60 if we do not. You will have to have a digital camera of before and after. You only turn in a picture if you do not get the spot out.

the last post should read 80 or 90 dollars an hour. Everyone should be working for the 890 dollars an hour I quoted.

We decided to put protector in our prices at the beginning of January. I have put protector on every job since we made the decision. I even sprayed a womans cat by accident. (You should see the rain run off that cat’s back.) Just quote the customer the price with protector and if they want it they will agree. If not they are price shopping like Brian said, and it does not matter.

You must be in the phone book. The closer to the front your ad is the more calls you will recieve. I have had limited success in the newspaper as far as booking jobs. But, it was the best way to get my name out in the community, small community where everybody knows most everybody. People have remembered that ad from over two years ago. I am again trying a small ad in the paper. I have booked one job after three weeks. The most important part is tracking your advertising. Know where your jobs are coming from.

Just my two cents worth. We decided to include the fabric protector in our pricing for everything starting in January of this year. We went with 50 dollars a room. If the room is over 250 sq ft then we charge 35 cents a sq ft. This allows us to charge more for those larger homes with the larger rooms. The 50 dollar charge comes out to about 28 cents a square foot overall.

I am not trying to get around buying from Heaven’s Best, but is there any place I can purchase the green stripe 13 inch pad. I have looked everywhere I know to look. I have a church and a funeral home coming up next week. The large buffer will not fit between the pews hence the reason I need the small buffer.

At the seminar they said 50 dollars for a quarter sized spot or smaller. Then the prices just went up from there.

Thanks guys for all of the input. We are a part time operation, I make my eating money by teaching school. We have a part time employee who does 90 percent of the cleaning for us, about 1 job per day at this point. WE hope to hire people full time as soon as we have enough business. We just felt we coud raise the prices and work less for the same or better money. We do take the extra time and care that customers want, so I feel we will be successful. I hope to see all of you in Vegas.

Very few people turn us down because of the old prices. So far this week we are booking about the same number of people with the new prices. I am in a tourist area but the local people use us more than the tourists. Western North Carolina just nort of Asheville. This is a side job for me so I can afford to experiment because I do not have to have the money to eat.

We usually use about one ounce per 20 square feet. So we would use about 15 oz.
