CJonesParticipant
Sorry if I offended you Mike – it was meant ‘tongue-in-cheek’. And I’m the grand old age of 47….. man, now I feel old!
CJonesParticipantI can see it might be time to load up the family & go land hunting! Ha The great northwest sounds great!! 🙂
CJonesParticipantLikewise however, this is not a “yes-man” forum. If people can’t handle dissent they should stick to the comics in the newspaper! I feel like people who “dare” to raise an opinion are often “attacked” for daring to say anything. Being scolded online for expressing an opinion on a supposed open-minded bulletin board is also being “closed minded”. What might be interpreted as “whining” by one person, might actually stir an intelligent investigation by others. I personally wish that everyone could remain open-minded and tolerate every opinion. Otherwise there will eventually be even FEWER participants on this board than there already is. This is not a rubber-stamp forum in my opinion. It should be an honest, what’s up today, straight-shooting place to be…… Even if it’s not popular…….. Just food for thought! Thanks for opening the subject, cause I’ve been thinkin’ about this too! But I still think Heaven’s Best IS the Best ….. I just think we need to not be intolerant of any thought or opinion, that’s how we get better than ALL COMPETITION!!!
CJonesParticipantGood one! It is important! It would be good if we could get some national rates on services for background checks & drug tests! These are critical for today’s labor market & actually good for advertising too! “Our employees pass extensive background checks & are drug tested on a regular basis’!
CJonesParticipantYup even in Texas they are figuring out how to collect on out-of-state sales taxes. At this point I do not know if this has passed yet, but do know it has been discussed at the state level. The reason is high levels of internet sales. I’m afraid to ask though…….. hmmmmmnnnnn is it time to move to that 100 acreas in the middle of no where & escape all this junk?? haha 🙂
CJonesParticipantBrains… you mean you have to ‘think’ to do this stuff?? hahahahahaha 🙂
CJonesParticipantJust as a caution…. don’t go to work for the yellow page folks! You work for yourself – bigger isn’t always better. Their business is to sell – so is yours! Your biggest seller is personal references…..not yellow pages! I think presence is important, but my caution to anyone is “don’t get ‘oversold’! You can use some of those ad dollars elsewhere! I feel yellow pages are more of a convenience to customers looking for you – or those who may have been told or exposed to the name, and need a reminder by seeing your logo & ph#. I’m convinced, you can help your yellow page guy make a 100k this year , or you can help yourself first!
CJonesParticipantI have used QB in previous businesses – and it is great! Very simple and very user-friendly!
CJonesParticipantOne can not ignore however the widespread problems of installation. Whatever the price is, whether you believe is too little or a lot, there is a nationwide problem with installation. I’m sure corporate negotiated in good faith with a franchise to avoid this inconsistency – but I’m afraid we need to change to a different sign franchise! It also does not make me a bad communist operator for saying so!! ha 🙂
CJonesParticipantDefinitely lots of questions out there! Personally I would agree that an additional fee seems ‘petty’ at best. People have already invested in the franchise and pay fees & purchase supplies from corporate every month. These types of seminars should not require a fee in addition to travel, rooms, etc. I decided awhile back that I could not attend – but I really would have liked to! I actually really liked the regional approach to meetings, since then I could drive & spend less overall. The atmosphere of Vegas also does not appeal to me. But that said, my real question here is: Can we get copies of the materials, videos, or whatever, if we are in fact not attending??? I don’t want to miss out – just can’t afford to go this year!!
CJonesParticipantExactly! Kind of like PTI on ESPN – when it’s over, you’ve considered all the angles and have confidence in your knowledge of the subject a little better. I enjoy reading what other people say – it makes us all ‘sharper’ in our attitudes. Personally, I can’t wait to get everthing – including the van – changed over. Next I’m getting b.cards & shirts. But I’m a cash kind of person – and so…it may take me just a little longer than some other folks! That does not make me negative, or skeptical about the change. We have until next summer – so everyone else: breathe in/breathe out! There should be no pressure to rush into poor financial choices either – if you have to wait a few more months, the worst that can happen is maybe some more of the ‘bugs’ can be worked out! Hakuna Matata!!! This is a great group of folks!!
CJonesParticipantWhile I agree – I think some state owners have forgotten what it’s like the first few years. Sometimes with a family you have to scratch a little with your finances. 1200$ is a big scratch for a lot of people. I’m going to change just as soon as I can! As will most folks I imagine. Discussions on this board need to cover both sides to each concern – it is healthy. Sometimes it seems like if you dare bring up a concern, you are somehow an enemy of the company. We need all sides, all view points, that’s what makes us better!! I’m ready for my wrap – but with one in college, one going next year, and one in high school – two still in braces, etc.,etc….. family comes first….we have to eat
CJonesParticipantAgreed, however in defense of what I think Ron is saying is that as a national franchise we should be able to ‘command’ a high level of quality in all our products & services. This is why most of us join a franchise – because of high standards & the power of numbers when purchasing product or services. Our buying power should enable us to command excellence. If not, then why are we banded together at all? If SAR is providing ‘slip-shod’ work, then we should command an improvement or we should work with another company!
CJonesParticipantOK, so what in the heck is a water claw??
CJonesParticipantMaybe mold? Low spot in the concrete floor is holding moisture? If not, then somebody spilled something during construction before the carpet was laid?
