That is a very good point. I was going to do that this weekend.
I have been telling customers that I am offering a discounted rate as a holiday special. Come January, I could call it an “Economic Special”.

Ever since I started offering the “Special”, my closing rate has increased significantly. In other words, the cheap college students are biting.

As I said earlier, I raised my prices twice in 2008. So even if I give them one room for free, I am still bringing in more money than January 2008.

    Ed,
Prior to HB: I used to pull my back muscles quite a bit. And I wasn’t exercising like the Dr. told me.
After a few months of working the vac, and rake; I haven’t had any trouble.
In the last 7 of my 8 years in this, I have pulled those muscles maybe 5 times.
    Good Luck

I raise them once a year. However, I did raise them twice in 2008.
I am about to revert back to the last change, as the economy is tanking, and the price of gas has come down.

A CSI scene is an ugly mess. I dealt with a medical scene recently, and it looked like the bottom fell out. (He’s fine by the way)
It’s not my first CSI, and I do have to make a 2nd trip everytime.
There is no getting around it, blood will bleed…

If it doen’t produce heat, I know there are add-on heaters that can be purchased specifically for that purpose.

Ooohhh! Brian, I am sorry to hear about that.

Carry extra upholstery mate logos in your van, then you can apply them
to the fire trucks so that you look like a 1st responder.

Most of us tend to get angry when our vac fails. But the reality is: My vac has already out lived me. Just think about it for a moment…
How many jobs per year does your vac do for you?
I don’t know about you, but my vac does more in one year than what a residential vac will do in 30 years.
I’ve been to the doctor once or twice this year… and many, many times in the last 30. When was the last time your vac ended up on your examination table?

Mine tend to break on the lower end where the retaining ledge is.
This is caused by a “folding out” motion while trying to unlatch the cup.
This part can’t take alot of motion, and your actions must keep this in mind.

With direct management of myself and employees, in how we latch and unlatch the cup, we have drastically reduced this down to being an annual maintenance.

I have 2 vacs, and have only replaced 1 clip in the past 12 months.
It is the same as our bodies. Eat right, and exercise.
Then the only reason to see the doctor is for the problems of old age.
    Good Luck

I always post spray with Orange Deodorant after I clean a mattress.
It does very well at preventing “water rings” or post browning.

I keep 3-4 oz. mixed into a 36 oz spray bottle on my spot tray.

I also spray O.D. liberally while I am cleaning the mattress.

Less than a hand full of fabrics will give you any trouble the the up-mate.
However, if you think the pet put more than just a surface amount of urine on the styrofoam cushions, then you only have one option.

    AVOID BUYING THEIR NEW COUCH.
I would suggest that they take the effected cushion to the dry cleaners.

Given the economy, the spotters sound like the way to go this year.
It’s one less thing the consumer has to buy.

I gave out the ceramic coffee mugs last year to my Realtors.
The ones that drink coffee tend to use them.
    The others took them home.

** On a side note: I have sinced order the stainless steel mugs, and really liked them. One of them ended up replacing my everyday mug for coffee.

I cleaned the bar off with solvent, and wrapped it with electrical tape before I put the grip back on.
I haven’t had any problems since.

Restaurants tend to be very greasey. This one should be no exception.
A good restaurant should require cleaning on a by-weekly basis, due to the traffic, and buildup.
You will find the heaviest buildup to be closer to the dishwashing area.
I tend to avoid cleaning restaurants for this reason.
You can use every pad on your truck, just in front of the dishwashing area.

    Good Luck

I googled used vans and came up with dozens of 1 year old vans.
    A Sprinter is $45,000 new.
    A 1 year old one is 28,0000.

A New used one is a great way to go, and you still get the tax deductions.

Gallons per s/ft ?? That would certainly be the Fly By Night soakers.
In my area, the average 3 bedroom house has 800 s/ft of carpet.
A mid grade steam cleaner will use at least 40 gallons of water to clean that house.

    Hope this helps.

I missed it as well. I will have to go back and look.
I did notice the price increase on the defoamer.
    Now I understand why…
