I had a lady call me(from atlanta and delaware) several times asking me if I approve the billing of my last years agreement of the sevice provided with this company. The bill was approx. $595. I told her that I would like to check my records before I approved her request and asked her to call me back the next day. I had no records of ordering this service so I told her if she could mail the agreement or contract, signed by me, I would agree to the charges. She agreed. That was over two weeks ago and haven’t been contacted since, nor have I received a mailing. I am assuming this is a scam. Just wanted to put the warning out there.

I’ve had a similar call. Didn’t hear the company name, but they said per our agreement. I said I didn’t have an agreement/contract with them and they said they would have “legal” contact me about our agreement. Haven’t heard from them again. Along the same lines, anyone that calls me wanting anything to do with updating my “free” online listing on their online “yellowpages” website, I politely say “No thank you, we are good” and I hang up right when they start trying to verify my info’s accuracy. I have yet to actually know of the online yellowpages site they mention, and I do a lot of searching, so even if it is legit, am I really losing anything by not verifying my info (which they are just probably pulling from another site anyway)?

Same here, several calls to me in the past 3 weeks. I tell them I’ll check my files and they can call back in a couple of days. Never a call back.

I had the same call yesterday. I told them that I knew they were a @!!#@$ scam company and that they could go %$@#* and they could also #@!%@. Then they proceeded to hang up on me.

I always get a bill from them in the mail asking for me to sign and return per our agreement. It looks pretty good because some how they own the rights to the old walking fingers logo. But read the very fine print and it tells you they are basically a scam.

Here is another thing to be careful of when dealing with these companies (scams)… apparently all they need to do to “legitimize” their scam is to get you to say the word “yes” over their recorded line. Even if the question you responded “yes” to has nothing what so ever to do with any type of approval for the service.

For example, they may start off by asking an innocent sounding question like “am I speaking to the owner of the company?” Once you say “yes” on the recorded line that somehow gets them some sort of leverage against you should you decide to contest the charges. I’m sure they are doing some creative edditing.

Best thing to do is say “no thank you” or “not interested” and hang up immediately. Here is a little time-saver I have learned over the years; as soon as any unwanted solicitor calls, I immediately add the phone number to my contacts under the name “DNA” (do not answer). So now when they call back – and they will call back – I can see who is calling before I stop everything to answer the phone. To date, my DNA list is about 30 numbers long!

Just download a call blocker app on your phone. If you have a Droid phone I recommend “Mr Number”. Great app. Just add the number to your “block list” and the next time they try calling it wont even go through. There is even an option to block all private numbers, robot calls, and known spam/solicitation numbers.
