I noticed in the store the wooden dirt napper is for sale. Just wondering if anybody purchased it and how it compared to the old wooden one, which everybody praised so highly.

December 5, 2008 at 9:24 pm #153053AnonymousInactiveok just opened,it looks beatuful.the black bristles are slightly longer.but when you put the bbc in it woooooo,it is awesome.i have never put any other pad in this napper, the bbc will fit fine.my opinion is this combo is extremely gratifying.i must say again,i love it.bbc inside it.i have aprox 30 bbc pads, then follow with cotton.cant be beat.

December 10, 2008 at 12:33 am #153056AnonymousInactiveone last thing for old faithful.this new wooden napper needs to be treated to a protector.the wood is not treated with any protector.protect with a good quality finish so it wont delaminate down the road from water damage.just get a brush and brush it on,use at least two coats. takes only a couple minutes to do. now it shines also. 😀
December 13, 2008 at 9:59 pm #153057AnonymousInactivelet me know what you think of the wooden napper with the bbc pad in it
December 15, 2008 at 4:40 am #153058AnonymousInactiveNemeth, I like the idea, but I wish we could get some BBC pads that fit in it better.
December 16, 2008 at 2:32 pm #153059AnonymousInactivewell three coats seems good enough.just make sure the edge around is all covered ,its like icing the cake.
December 21, 2008 at 12:42 am #153060KY13ParticipantI recieved the napper the other day. Definitly has its pros and cons. I agree with Ferris, BBC doesnt fit well at all. I’m gonna wait till I get some nice dirty carpet and do a side by side comparison……..one side napper, other side without; and see what the results look like.

January 5, 2009 at 10:37 pm #153062AnonymousInactivethe new wooden napper i purchaced (second one in 4 years ) is a beautiful thing.if you have new bbc’s they will not fit as good untill washed a few times.i lift the machine on to the pad and set it down on it.only need to lift it up 2 or three inches to clear the pad and then set it back down on it.this way has worked best for me and its quicker.just make sure its centered on it.now with the all the weight of the machine on it, that works for me well.i have also put the pad in the napper first, put the napper on the ground and set the machine in the napper, that works well also.i have had most of my bbc’s at least 6 monhs and all fit good in the napper,no problem.this makes the jobs quality better and quicker.then follow with woven turf on red drive plate
