What kind of prep work do you guys suggest before applying wax & polishing wood floors?? Do you vacuum, mop/clean surface, etc? I’ve seen the videos but they only address the actual wax & polish process. Sounds like a silly question, but I know I wash my car BEFORE I wax it!! ha …. Want to get started on wood asap but want to feel more confident about preparation! HELP!

Lightly mist the floor with HB101, then go over it with a plain pad, to clean it. So far I have done 3 hardwood jobs. Go light on the wax, & be sure to let it dry (5 min). You can always apply up to 3 coats if needed (to get that shine). Good Luck!

Here’s how I’ve done it. Make sure all dust, sand, etc. it off the floor. I used my porta vac with the floor tool on it. Next, I wet a finishing towel with our 101 cleaning solution and put it on a cleaning pad and buff the floor. This will get the remaining soil on the wood surface. I would not spray the floor directly because you don’t want a lot of moisture. When you have that done it’s time to wax. When you do the wax, I think it’s better to apply several coats than it is to apply it too heavy. I think our video explains the waxing process pretty well. Good luck. I think you’ll enjoy it. i
