wood floor cleaning / waxing

Did my first wood cleaning and wax job today. Found it easy to do, however I also found the 101 to leave a film so I rinsed with warm water and a towel.
After it dried I used the steel wool pad with no wax on it and buffed the entire floor. Applied the wax with a thin pad (I used a 3 inch putty knife to spread the wax on the pad) let it dry and buffed with the pad provided in the kit. The floor was sun faded in spots so I informed the owner it would not improve that aspect of the floor….the sheen was very uniform and looked great.
