I am very excited about next week. This is usually the best week for me to go out and pick up some new accounts. I have found that the week after New Years is when most people are settling back in to the grind. The exception is the average carpet cleaner. This is when they take a vacation and spend more time blaming the weather and the econony on why they are slow rather than amping up their buissness for the year.
I plan on having a big year in 2007 so I need some big accounts to get me there. I have put together twenty packets for apartment managers. I plan on trying to get placed on at least two more management company vendors lists. I decided that I am going to start doing work in the hotel industry this year so I plan on stopping in on at least two hotels a day for a week. I feel tht I could also expand on some night jobs so I plan on going for some offices as well.
I find that most homes like to wait until spring to clean, but commercial woork is done all year long. I know that this is an obvious statement, but for some reason most carpet people dont realize the huge potential of the winter months. One to two weeks of marketing will give 365 days of growth. As for me I dont want to wait till Vegas to get modivated. I want to go to Vegas motivted.
I hope to see you all in Vegas

I have also found that the mugs, pens, and mints go over real well. These places like then so well, in one place they got into a unfriendly situation as to who earned the mug more than the other. When I heard of this I returned with another mug and was the HERO again. They eat the mints, use the pen, and value the mug. All have your name on it! It does make a difference. Can you imagine the look on your compititors face when he trys to sell himself on a large property management place and sees on all the desks mugs with the name HEAVENS BEST. Money well spent!January 5, 2007 at 11:54 pm #148447AnonymousInactiveThis winter, I (actually my wife) created a really nice postcard sporting our new logo on both sides along with a short explaination of the changes. We sent these out to 1300 exsisting customers, offering a 25% discount from now til 2/28/07. The postcards landed in their mailboxes yesterday and today. The cost of the home production was around $500. The first repeat customer I cleaned for this year was a day prior to her receiving the card. I kept one in my scheduler to show her when I got to her house to clean a set of steps and a bedroom. She must loves discounts because I spent the last two partial days in her house and will be back on Monday to clean upholstery. A $130 job turned into $866. I also booked an additional $2500 worth of work the last two days from this postcard. I will try to e-mail this to Jason for a post. Hope to see you all in Vegas!
