After reading your posts, It sounds like you are ready for a vacation in sunny Florida!!!!!! I have a daughter that lives about 25 miles north of Detroit, She just gave birth to a baby girl yesterday, and wants us to fly up as soon as we can get away, I told her you have to get above 40 degrees before you will see me there!!!!!!! Wow what a winter!!!!!!

February 10, 2009 at 4:31 am #153172NJ05ParticipantIt would be nice to be doing more golfing, but it’s hard to justify it when it is so slow….we are down %20 from our previous year. You would think sunny California would be a little more productive would’nt you !?
February 11, 2009 at 1:40 am #153173AnonymousInactiveHey Nemeth . . . Working to hard . . . not really. Vacationing . . . possibly. Ready for warm weather . . . Absolutely! Thanks for keeping it going.
I have an idea for you . . . come to Iowa April 2nd and 3rd for the Iowa, Minnesota seminar. Pick up Tommy on your way. We’ll learn a lot and have a some fun too.

i would love to be down only 20%…we’re looking at 50-60% minimum. In fact I got one phone call today and that was from my wife.

I met with the owners of a cleaning company today that employ over 100 people. They are looking for a carpet cleaner that they can rely on to do good work at a fair price. This company has banks, offices, theatres, apt. complexes and high end homes that need carpet cleaned. This is nearly a full time job just working for them. The theatre has 6000 sqft and needs to be done twice per month. The work is out there waiting for someone to ask for it. Don’t let the media get you down.
We are facing a depression only because we are constantly being told this.
We are the pawns reacting exactly how the government wanted us to. Fight back and make your own economy the way you want it to be. Go out there and grow your business. We should all grow 15 – 25% this year.
The work is out there, go get it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!February 11, 2009 at 4:24 am #153176AnonymousInactiveI agree with Brian Sutton, Its what you make of it. We are up over 30% from 2007 to 2008 and we had our best January since we started 9 years ago. Please think positive, it will help out big time. Remember this year is going to be a year of helping out the customers you already have, and not really putting a whole bunch of money into new customers. Offer all of your customers a deal they cant refuse. In January we offered 40% off upholstery cleaning when you get your carpet cleaned, and an additional 20% off carpet cleaning. We sent this ad out in January to a quarter of our customers appx 350 people, it cost about $175.00 and we made $4800.00 off this one very simple customer letter. Please dont get stuck in the moment.
February 11, 2009 at 4:33 am #153177Ca22ParticipantI have been busy hitting the streets. We had door hangers made up and we are passing them out whenever we have time. The only problem is that we don’t have time to get as many out there as I would like. I spend a lot of time learning about the Internet and how to advertise our business. I am busy talking to commercial accounts so that we have future jobs. I know that it can be hard out there when times are slow but look at it as a time for opportunity to expand your business and learn a new skill like advertising.
