    WHO PREFERS USING THE ORECK ON STAIRS OR DO YOU PREFER EXTRACTION FOR BASIC CLEANING. WHAT PAD? THE GREEN STRIPE OR THE SMALL WHITE FINISHING PAD.

    We have never used the extractor on steps. Used the Nobles briefly…too dangerous. So I got a commercial Oreck before Cody began selling. Also prefer the green stripe pad, only use 1/2 the pad though. We split them in half and make 2 pads out of one. This allows for less drag on the carpet and less weight for the Oreck to have to deal with spinning. Works great!!

    We use the plain pad, but they are not that great. they bunch up and are a pain.

    CLARIFICATION

    We use a 12″ green stripe pad with the Oreck and spilt into 2 pieces that spin freely. We find that the white pads do not work well…they bunch up and are a problem. Also, do not set Oreck on the velsro like bottom, they will bend and not grab pad. We do not use a 17″ pad on the Oreck…would not work.

    Hope that this clarifies a misconception out there.

    thanks for all the input I tried both and I now use both together starting with the green stripe pad and finishing with the white pad to help dry and remove any remaining dirt. But using each alone I found the Green Stripe does do a superior job. 🙂
