I wanted to know if any of you guys do it all. For example: Tile and grout cleaning, drapes, air ducts, extreme water extraction, carpet laying and strecthing, tile laying and sealing, etc, etc.
Tell us what all you guys do out there and if it is worth it. I am considering doing the tile and grout cleaning thing and strecthing and repairing carpet. Let us know.
Right now we only do carpets. I will be expanding that to tile & grout within a few months. I would like to eventually have a crew that would do repairs, installs, stretching, and dying. This of course wouldn’t be for a couple of years, but I can just imagine already having a built-in client base for this. Just send out a letter to my clients about this and watch the fire spread.
I am a member of BNI, Bussiness Networking International, and I give at least 4 referrals a month to a handyman. I have been thinking about learning how to do it myself. Small repairs I think at first. I think it is a easy way to make some extra money without any extra advertising. We’ll see.
I have toyed with all these ideas, and there’s something to be said for full service. However, I have never found any of those to be as lucrative as carpet cleaning. So, I’ve decided at this point not to dilute my carpet cleaning efforts and work to keep my schedules full with that. Whatever you decide, it’s nice to have those resources at your disposal.
I agree with you Brian. That is the reason we are going to wait a couple of years to get into the installs and repairs. I think adding a second truck is more important.
