What are the benefits of a website vs a landing page? I know what a landing page runs, but what were the costs for those of you that have your own website? Initial build? Hosting? SEO? Would appreciate any info/advice from those that are willing to share. Thanks.
September 27, 2011 at 4:17 am #155320AnonymousGuestContent is what is used for ranking and it is very difficult to generate content from just a landing page. Two years ago I had my website redesigned. It was originally a 5-page site, that quite frankly, sucked. I was, however, locked in to a contract with the designer and I could not get out of it until July 2009. I found a designer on LinkedIn. This new designer took my site to what is now a 22 page site. It is a night and day difference and much much more professional and full of content, which Google likes. The cost to have the site redesigned was $1500. I spend $10 a month for hosting, $199 for SEO and $99 for PPC with a budget of $1000 or less.
September 27, 2011 at 11:03 pm #155321AnonymousInactiveI have a background in website design and SEO. I built my own site and I’d have to say that it has a big advantage over a landing page. We rank in the top 5 on Google for common search terms, and my customers often compliment my website. Customers are really looking for two things initially. They want to know if you’re local and if they can trust you.
Content is king, and you want to keep it unique. If you’re using the same content used on other sites you’re wasting your time. The search engines detect this, and they will assign much more relevance to the site that has had that content for the longest period of time.
If anybody has any questions, feel free to post them here or call me at 256-361-7599 and I’ll answer them the best I can.

Are you talking about a landing page or mini-website?A landing page is just one page. Ugly. And just like what Jeff said.
A mini-website is like a micro-site that is completely customizable with an unlimited number of pages.
To compare a mini-website and a regular website see the Dec. 2010 newsletter.
http://www.heavensbest.com/op-only/company-news/city-newsletters/archived.htmlThe only thing that is out of date on that newsletter is that you can have anything for a mini-website address, meaning:
