As I visited with the Washington state operators (also great guys) this week, I was a little surprised to know many operators forgot from training (they cover a lot in the four short days), there is an exhaust port on the right side of the upholstery mate. Take an older or extra hose and attach it to the port. This is useful to run the bad odors (like urine) to the out side or just reduce the sound from the motors. Also, using the “exhaust hose” can give you a bigger window of opportunity to turn off the vacuums before the waste water sprays the floor when the recovery tank has exceeded it’s limits or if the hose is dry, you can use it as a blow dryer to dry out a spot in the carpet you just extracted.
