InactiveBryan,
What company are you using for your advertising? Here we have a company (actually out of Colorado) called AdGorilla. The spots are between $1-$5. They will run only in our town of Maricopa but that is still good as there are 30k residents and it’s the city I live in. This seems to good to be true but it sounds like you are doing well with it. They put together a proposal for me for August. You can see it hereif you would like. Please don’t give that file to anyone else.
Also I’m wanting to know which networks and/or TV shows you advertise on.

InactiveRon,
We have used tv for 2 years now. We started with Media Com, which handles the same channels as your AdGorilla. We feel that it has been very positive for our business. Our prices with Media Com were very similar to yours. This year we took an even more aggressive step. We are advertising on the area network station. Much more expensive, but the response has been even better than with the above. Even with all the talk of the economy, we had a record year in 2008 and are on track to beat that.
I think your proposal is fair and a great place to start on TV. I would encourage a committal of 1 year and maybe narrow your selection of channels. You will see results, but you won’t see night and day results right away. If you stay with it for the year, I think you will see positive results. TV gets us in front of a lot of people. If you do the math, you are touching a lot more people per dollar spent.
A side comment to the power of TV . . . Minnesota has gained 1 operator as a result of the network tv ads, and is pretty close to gaining another.

InactiveWhat are the most popular networks for women? I think Lifetime is one. Here is the selection
ABC Family
A&E
Discovery
Food
FX
HGTV
HLN
Lifetime
TLC
TBSJuly 20, 2009 at 11:55 am #149404Anonymous
InactiveI ran tv ads last year, i used lifetime and HGTV at first and switched HGTV to Fox News and it seemed to do better. Maybe being an election year had something to do with that.

ParticipantI have a wife and three married daughters who live for HGTV. It’s on most of the time in the evening. Wish I could get some of my operator’s started using TV but most of them think it’s to expensive. Bryan & Ron, are you using the new TV ads supplied by corporate?

InactiveRon, We’re using a new one that our local station developed. It uses corporate’s jingle and some graphics.
