Has any one had this problem. I have a hotel I clean for, after cleaning the in front lobby which is tile if there is any overspray on any varnished wood surfaces it’s very tuff to remove it i try to watch out and clean as I go but if one of my employee does the job sometimes it gets missed. any sugestion would be great thanks

March 2, 2011 at 2:00 am #154631NJ05ParticipantYou can mask the area off to keep splash or spray off unwanted surfaces. You can do it by hand at those areas. Tile cleaning, if you are using the buffer, spins solution all over so you have to take precautions. To clean unsealed grout you have to charge accordingly to make it worth your while because it takes time to get it clean….I have stopped doing tile…it is just not worth it to me…but then i’m not in my twenties any more HA HA.
good luck

May 31, 2011 at 11:35 pm #154634schubertParticipantjust a ? for the home office on hard surface cleaners. I have seen a product that has a bleaching effect on the grout . that is usualy my trouble areas , wondering if we have a similar product that is coming on line ?
June 6, 2011 at 3:51 pm #154635Mikman01Participantcan you use bleach or peroxide on grout?
June 7, 2011 at 4:40 am #154636AnonymousInactiveFrom what I understand on bleach is it will make the grout brittle over time. Not sure about peroxide.
July 7, 2011 at 2:24 am #154637schubertParticipantperoxide i think would deffinatly be safer ,but it can” bleach out” carpet over time . never heard of bleach making things brittle
August 9, 2011 at 2:42 pm #154638AnonymousInactiveI don’t know if anybody has tried this but I purchased a tile and grout plate for my stair buffer and used on a job that had very small tiled bathrooms. They had not been cleaned properly for about 5-6 years. It worked great. Just thought I would share this.
August 9, 2011 at 9:04 pm #154639KY13ParticipantI have the same attachment. Works great for small areas like bathrooms.
August 9, 2011 at 11:49 pm #154640AnonymousInactiveAlways wondered if the tile attachment worked on the Oreck. I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks
August 16, 2013 at 2:18 am #154641hbottumwaParticipantWith heart felt sincerity, I’m going to leave myself a little open here. We worked on educating ourselves to clean tile & grout through the bulletin board, tutorials, and just asking a lot of questions. I bought the T&G (Buffer) package and bought the ninja package a month or so later. We have increased our business about 30% in the last two weeks (and climbing) just by letting customers know (when they call for an appointment) that we also clean T&G! We mention hard wood and vct but T&G is really taking off!
I have learned … that T&G has similarities to carpet cleaning. 1. You can clean it, but doesn’t always come out as good as you would like. 2. The first few times, you will spend more time “learning as you go” than the $ per hour you would like. Like with carpet $ per hr get better with experience. 3. There’s a reason they call it “Dwell” time. 4. Customers love us! 5. It pays to pass on some jobs.
I was one of those who were content just doing carpet & upholstery cleaning. What prevented me from doing T&G, hard wood floor, and vct tiles? Frankly I didn’t take the time to educate myself and lacked the vision. I now see the light! (or at least see the added $’s ) Only you can decide weather or not it is right for you. I have only seen one restaurant in all of La Grande that didn’t have T&G. It’s all over, homes, office buildings, bathrooms, public restrooms, entryways, halls, churches, dealerships, just to name a few. It’s almost every where there’s not carpet. I just hired a part timer to help with the increased work knowing full well it’s on it’s way up, up, and away! I’m looking at and doing -one van- second shifts, and night shift contract cleaner. It just makes sense to me.
Please reconsider why you don’t expand your horizon’s.
