Good points Gordon,
I think the frustration is rooted in a place like my shower…Every single morning, I shower and am alone mostly with the TV on high volume listening to Fox and Friends….and that da**ed SS commercial comes on. I fight like he** to not sing the song….and every once in a while I do…
I guess with the election, should start listening to MSNBC and get away from the SS ad……just joking.
It would be nice to have a national recognition….but being under the radar is cool as well.
November 5, 2008 at 7:52 pm #152658AnonymousInactiveGlad to hear that you shower every morning,Dave!!! Actually , if you listened to Fox and Friends in my area you would be able to listen to a Heavens Best commercial. But that is my choice, and I want it to always be my choice.

I totally agree. Can you share the costs and frequency of insertions and length? We may be opning the door into this area locally but I fear the initial costs are extremely high.
Thanks,
DaveNovember 6, 2008 at 8:20 pm #152660AnonymousInactiveDave,
As usual your remarks are insightful and correct. The efforts in the last 3-4 years have been remarkable and contunue. You have mentioned many and there are more. I’ve been with HB for 8 years now and our name and logo seems to show up in trade magazines with some frequency. This is not by mistake. As for TV. I run my own commercial from my own advertising budget. I decide when, where and how much to spend. My total market is less than 80,000. Most of my work comes from about 50,000. Since using these commercials, business has increased very nicely.
November 16, 2008 at 5:41 pm #152661AnonymousInactiveFor those that are using tv already what is your frequency and cost and was it worth your investment? I feel that tv would help us to grow. I understand it may not be for everyone. Whoever said that if it was manadatory a new operator may go under had a valid point depending on the cost. I know tv is expensive but i’m not a guru as to what it would cost.
I have 2 thought:
1. Have corporate see what kind of rates they could negotiate for us on a national level, present us with what it would cost for each operator, and let us vote. It may wind up being cheaper than we think. I don’t know though. I am sure that if it is extremely expensive a lot of operators that want to do it may not want to when they have actual figures.2. Or I’m not positive if this can be done But `Corporate negotiate rates on a regional level. Then we are not advertising in areas HB is not in already and may be farley cheaper than national. Again present us with the rate and have the operators vote.
Finally I think if we do national it would A) help HB grow by people seeing the ads on tv maybe getting interested and sell more franchises. B) Get the name out there and maybe some operators may be able to buy more territory because they are getting more calls from an area they don’t own and may be worth their while to buy. Or just do the regional advertising and help the existing operators and grow from there.
Thoughts please?
November 17, 2008 at 12:59 pm #152662AnonymousInactivei have been running 80 spots a month for $360.00. I started running these ads last spring. They are hard to track because when you ask where they heard about you they may have seen your ad on tv, and elsewhere too. I have made the bettered their best list 2 months in a row this year and my third quarter was out if this world. Now, does that mean it was the tv ads or just a good campaign with all my ads doing thier job? I signed up for 10 months, when that runs out I will have to stop running them for the winter.
These ads were running on Mediacom Cable only. Anyone who has sattelite or gets their tv over the air does not see them. I hope this helps.November 17, 2008 at 1:03 pm #152663AnonymousInactiveAlso, i run my 80, 30 second spots 2 weeks out of the month, so they are more frequent on the days they run. And i know Brian Ferris gets a better price per ad then i do and it is from the same cable company, 150 miles away.

Glad to see it working for you. I have had great results from tv as well. Would also like to mention that corporate has some new tv ads. I was so glad to see this as the one I have been running is getting a bit stale.November 19, 2008 at 1:29 pm #152665AnonymousInactiveI went to the ads site, and didn’t see it. How do i find the new ads
November 19, 2008 at 3:35 pm #152666AnonymousInactiveRich, They aren’t on the web site yet. Justin said he’s working on getting them posted soon.
