TESTO
ParticipantHello everyone! I hope you had a great holiday season with friends and family. It’s now back to the grindstone building our businesses for this great year of 2009!
I’m checking the bulletin board for any information regarding our relationship with Tandus. I would like to know when we will publicly be recognized through their company as the primary cleaning company for their commercial carpet. Will the corporate office be able to give operators a list of Tandus sales reps to contact within our area? Or better yet, can Tandus give us a list of every commercial install they have done within our areas?
If you have any insight reply at your earliest convenience!
Best Regards,

Participant1.John is our contact person from our corporate office, work through your state owner.
2. State owners got certified in Nov. 2008 and operators will get certified as they attend their regional seminar. (Don’t want to miss it)
John could tell you more concerning Tandus, but I can tell you things are headed in the right direction, even though things do take time. Some corporation boards and websites are slow.

ParticipantI have heard that we are not supposed to be trying to find out who has Tandus carpet. Tandus has a rep for each state and the rep is supposed to eventually contact us when all is said and done. This is a wonderful thing and yes I don’t think that we are the primary provider. It would be cool. I don’t think the HB family is big enough to fulfill this need yet. Hopefully we will be when Tandus and the HB operators are. Who would not want their carpet clean and dry in 1 hour and Tandus approved. Very exciting.

InactiveI am very excited about the Tandus topic. Commercial work can be very profitable. The jobs can be very large, too large for one person to handle. I completed my largest single day commercial job on the 17th of this month. It was 14,000 sqft bid at $2000. I had 3 buffers, 3 upright vacuums and 2 edgers. After the 3 uprights got far enough ahead, I moved one to a buffer. We, 7 of us, completed the job in 5 hrs with taking a 30 min. lunch break. ( 4 1/2 actual cleaning time. ) After labor and product subtracted, my profit for the 5 hrs. was $1400. I don’t mind going out on a Satuarday morning for that kind of cash! So, if you are planning to gear up for these jobs, make the investment on a second buffer, vacuum and some more pads. Find a couple of quality college kids and pay them $15/hr. With good pay, they will be there for the next job.
