Right….83% humidity today in Bryan exas is pretty high. Sweating cools the body, we are supposed to sweat in hot weather. Facts: in hot, sunny weather, one should wear a hat to protect the head and face from the sun…also should wear clothing to protect from too much cancer causing sun. Should drink plenty of water in order to keep body temp down and prevent dehydration. God made our bodies to sweat in order to control our core temperature.

I have been wearing an osford shirt with logo for several years now on jobs in all kinds of heat and it has posed zero problem. It looks professional and I feel professional. No logo on sleeve though..then I promise I would feel and look like an auto technician.

I think the problem boils down to this..many people just like like to wear t-shirts and that is their right…however, if they were a stockbroker, I can guarantee you that they would not wear t-shirts to work, regardless of what they like to wear. They would most likely wear the required uniform of tie, suit, shirt etc…that is their uniform.

Cody is attempting to upgrade our image to the public. Even driving around and eating, etc we are being observed and seen by potential customers.

However, wearing a silly patch on my sleeve is NOT professional looking, unless you consider the look we are trying to achieve is that of the auto technician….even they only have a patch over the pocket.

    Thanks Dave,
Again, my beef isn’t with the upgraded shirts as more a fear of showing up covered in sweaty wet spots. Obviously I will have to try it.

You may have a point about the auto tech, or is it the race car driver?

Both…I am from Indianapolis and was in the Pits and garages..the drivers had patches up and down their sleeves, chest, back and legs…the more prominent placement of patches, the supplier paid for.

When it is hot outside and you are working hard a hat on your head and any collar around your neck just hold in your body heat which needs to escape.

I am excited about the look of the new logo and think Cody and staff are headed in a good direction with the changes. I do agree with Rick on the price of the shirts, I may have to wear the same shirt all week PHEW. The patch on the sleeve and back look a bit ridiculous. I like the polo style shirts the best, but do own some of the old cowboy denim button down Heavens Best shirts. I grew up with four women and am married to a woman who dress to the nines, I think i may catch some flack when I step out of the my van looking like a nascar janitor mechanic. The van looks awesome too, but was wondering if there will be space to advertise the areas we work in ( Serving Baca, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Prowers, Lincoln, Kit Carson and Otero Counties.) It is useful for customers to know if you are available in a certain area. Can’t wait to put the new look on my van.

I didn’t join Heaven’s Best because I knew I wouldn’t sweat. Just bring two shirts wimps. We all have our different things in our areas. I have to make sure my product and equpiment doesn’t freeze for six months out of the year because I don’t have garage and can’t park close enough to put in a little space heater in at night.

Will any of the shirs be for women. My wife, the owner of the franchise, cannot wear men’s shirts so well due to the cut being very uncomfortable.

She would like to see women’s shirts made available or alternatively have an account with something like Land’s End where we can order shirts with logos attached per HB instructions and that way, returns are no problem, sizing is standard and uniform for men and women and consistency is guaranteed absolute.

YES THEIR IS SHIRTS FOR WOMEN. We are working on getting the specificans to what sizes are available. They are tailored to fit a women.

These shirts will not be stocked. They have a 2 week lag time and CANNOT be done any faster so think ahead.

I will post next week what the sizes and measurements will be.

    example small = 5-6

Also the only way you will be able to get the shirts is to Order them from the Corporate Office. The standard shirt that we will stock will be the Blue one. The white will be availble on request. Dave sorry but the logo will be on the sleeve of the short sleeve shirt. If you dont want it order the long sleeve. The logo on the back is optional but it will cost $30 extra and take 2 weeks. I would suggest putting it on the back of your jackets.

Now I am befuddled. Patches on the sleeve and on the chest will look dumb to me and I would personally feel like an auto mechanic or tire changing technician…not a professional wearing it.

However, there will be no patch on the sleeve of the long-sleeved shirts? This is a step in the right direction to looking more professional.

Are the long sleeved shirts in blue or white or both?

I specifically asked Cody why a patch on the sleeve when we already had it on the chest (over the pocket where it would be obscured by anything sticking out of the pocket like the pen with the channel) and Cody replied so someone could see it from the side. I assumed that meant long-sleeved shirts as well. Also, both sleeves.

Is there a patch on both short sleeves then? Though many of us are on the right..many os us are on the left as well…hehe

    Are the shirts permanent press?

I have been wearing blue, short sleeved dress shirts from Land’s End with the logo on the right chest area so as to be visible to anyone. Able to be worn in any company at all…Chamber meetings, 1 million dollar homes or in trailers or diners or very expensive restaurants, or on the floor cleaning a corner..anyplace and anywhere. Fully, multi-functional.

The appearance of this shirt, to me, in a Chamber meeting would be embarassing(sp), or giving a presentation to a group or coming to the door of a million dollar home. To anyone looking at me from anyplace Iwould look not like the professional, but rather the non-owner, hourly employee.

Do owners of successful franchises look like the auto technician or hourly worker who does the work? On one side of this coin we are supposed to upgrade our image (I thought mine was ok to begin with) and then on the other side drop our image to that of the level of an hourly worker.

Patches on the arm are an hourly worker work shirt, not the manager/owner/professional salaried work shirt.

I have had many positive comments on the appearance of my son and me, in that we look ver professional. Some are shocked by our look, “giving us the eye from top to bottom” smiling and then saying something like “you don’t look like carpet cleaners”. I would bet they had patches on their shirt sleeves. Sorry Cody…I do not understand the logic of this new look.

I guess I had better get used to long sleeves again…and yes, I wore them in August in San Antonio, Texas and then for 4 more months and in Southeast Asia for a year.

Joel… That shirt is really going to smell.

I suggest “Tag” body spray for men.

I will just roll up the sleeves…Really, I can just wear the shirts I have for the next year and a half…different logo, but I feel that none of my customers care a whit about the logo…they care about the quality and value we provide.

Finally went into a McDonalds for about the 4th time in 10 years and noticed that they didn’t have a McDonalds patch on their sleeve. I was in PepBoys thou this weekend and they did on their polos along with about 4 other patches of companies they stock.

Maybe we could do that…put patches on for Tennant, Century 400 and others??? The last time I wore anything on my sleeve was 1972 in the Air Force as an enlisted man…officers wear lapel pins thank you.

We get it you dont like the patch. There is eighteen months before you have to worry about a patch. In this time alot could happen. I am going to chose to wait it out some and see what happens. Lets look at how the guys like the new shirts in six months from now. At that time start polling on what we would like to see available. Talk to Cody and see what we can work out. Things are going to change, but I am sure we will have a voice in the direction once the dust settles and we see what is working and what is not.

Coming from an area w/a heat index of up to 120 degrees during the summer (and that is definitely NOT a “dry” heat), people expect sweat whether you’re standing still or running a marathon. T-shirt, polo, button-down, when you’re working hard, it doesn’t really matter what it’s made of or what anti-persp. you use, you sweat. Recommendation–the lighter-color material (i.e. white). The lighter color the material, the less the sweat areas contrast with the original shirt color. Don’t know about everyone else, but when we’re working, we sweat no matter what time of year! Undershirts may help and can be changed between jobs for cheaper than keeping a supply of 5 logo shirts a day to change between jobs. Just a thought…

I noticed that the “Dry-Fit” style of T-shirt works much better than the regular cotton type.

I have 4 grown kids. They all came home for Father’s Day. We layed the new shirts out on the table for their opinion at separate times. All four comments were very much the same . . . “Nice, a little dressy for carpet cleaning, aren’t they Dad?” I say mission accomplished.
