ParticipantI love the stair buffer however there must be a way of getting pads such as are used on the big buffer like the ones with more absorbency and texture. As soon as we put new ones on they are shredded by the grip underneath. We find they lose their value very quickly.
Does anyone know of pads like the green strifed pads or the woven turf for use on the stair buffer?

ParticipantI agree with your statement about the pads getting shredded. I found some pads like our woven turf pads. I found that the friction caused the buffer to over heat. Can not find any green striped pads so far.

InactiveI believe part 211-C is the 13″ green striped pad for Oreck buffer (although picture is of regular green striped nobles buffer pads). Not a fan of the stair buffer, but currently no alternative I like better (big buffer or HWE). I do like the size of it, but I always know I have to follow it with a towel and lots of elbow grease, especially on the edges. All my pads are shredded, and now my plate has lost all of its teeth (just cones now) so it doesn’t hold pads very well if at all. Can we order a replacement plate? I searched the online catalogue for “plate” and the only one I found was titled “stair buffer drive plate”, but the picture was of the regular drive plate for a nobles/matador buffer (3705-C). Assuming it’s the one I want, but assuming hasn’t worked for me all the time when ordering.

ParticipantDave 3705-C is the correct drive plate for the stair buffer. I have ordered it a couple times. The picture is wrong. Also just wondering how do you use the big buffer on stairs?

ParticipantI am not very good at articulating myself or I would try to tell u nest time I have a job with stairs I will bring the video camera and email it to you. I do however use the stair buffer 90 % of the time at least to follow up and do the risers

InactiveI too am dissatisfied with the white stair buffer pads. We use the small green stripe pads, but for them to work really well, I split them. Take the binding off the outer edge and you end up with 2 one-sided pads. These work great! Also, those drive plates need to be free of lint and need to be replaced a time or two per year.
