Is the stair pad sold by corporate a 12 inch pad or larger?

I think they are 13″ pads.

Are these stair buffers worth the money? I’ve heard other operators say they are unhappy with them.

The buffer is great, the pads are not…cannot be used on any regular basis. See previous posts over the past 2 years or possibly more on this subject.

I love my stair buffer. Sometimes I go over it twice (using another pad). I liken it to the microwave, once you learn to use it, it’s hard to go with out it.

I could not agree more…the buffer is an absolute necessity for us.

The all-white pads are NOT good though.

The stair buffer saves your back. I am quite proficient with either buffer on stairs, but if you use a 2 man crew, you can have one person buffing with the big guy in one room, while another works the stairs (i.e. be efficient and save $$$). No matter what you use on stairs (big buffer, stair buffer, HWE) I find you still need to follow up with a towel, your pro spotter and some elbow grease, especially for the lips. If the carpet fibers are dirty all the way down to the backing, no method will fix the problem.

ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT THE ORECK BUFFER? THE ORBITAL ONE ? IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER IF IT ROTATED! ANY BODY WHO WOULD LIKE TO BUY ONE I HAVE ONE I WILL MAKE YOU A DEAL ON…I USED IT TWICE…DON’T CARE FOR IT AT ALL…..

    Gary,

Use the search feature above and type in Oreck. Read my comment on the pads. If you are using the large buffer on steps, just wait until it grabs wrong and it goes through a wall, or you nearly fall…oops!

Anyone using the large buffer is doing something very unsafe and it is only a matte of doing something that is inherently unsafe until it hurts you one way or another.

    The commercial Oreck is awesome!

    Hope this helps.

    O.K.
Let me ask again, is the oreck you guys are so happy with the rotating kind? The one i am unhappy with is the oscillating one purchased through HB.. did you purchase it through HB ?? Did you go outside to purchase it?? Thanx..

    Gary,

Yes, we buy from Rexburg, ID, just like our contract said to. How long have you used you oreck oscillating stair buffer? At first I didn’t care for it much, but after a few uses I was hooked. Sometimes you still need to clean by hand, and there have been times I went over it twice with the oreck (with a 2nd pad) and called it good. The more I’ve used it the more I like it.

The irritating thing is – you can’t find this item on the “On-Line Store”. Why is that? I have wondered about this equip before, and I went to Oreck’s website. It would be nice if our on-line material was complete including pictures, full descriptions, and prices!! How much is this?

The Oreck buffer is listed on the Online Store under “buffer and parts”. Go to the second page and find item #3500-C Stair buffer and drive plate. It sells for $425.00. Click on the item to see the picture. Hope this helps.
