I am having problems with my order of pads. I ordered them about 8 months ago, when they were the product of the month and haven’t used them until recently. However, there is a HUGE difference between my old pads and the new pads, speaking of the regular pads. The old pads were made of mostly cotton. They were good at cleaning, however, the new pads feel more synthetic, much lower absorbtion rate, and don’t seem to pick up dirt as easily. I have gotten pretty frustrated, now all of my pads feel this way but the woven turf pad, and my towels. I rarely use BBC pads because they behave in the same fashion. Is there anyone out there that knows what I am talking about? I have set aside my new pads and continued using my old pads, as they are working better for me. If you have experienced this change, what are you doing to adapt to the NEW pads? 😕

At one point, about 2 years ago, there was a batch of pads that came through that were different. I didn’t clearly understand why, but I am wondering of some of the were sent to me and I ended up liking them. I don’t know. If that is the case, anyone who may still have theirs,……. thats a different road. The thickness is no comparison. The old pads were denser, thicker, and softer. The newer pads are thinner, more course feeling, and not as dense. I wouldn’t have a problem if I could just figure out the best way to use them effectively. Any help would be great.

It seems as though Tuway started using a thicker rubber middle part. They went back to the other way and the new woven turf pads seem better. I have 2 sets on backorder so we’ll see how this batch goes.

I was amazed at the difference the new pads were on the carpet verses my old pads. There was alot of dirt that came out. BUT, even though I used little solution, the carpet was still very wet, and the pad had not soaked up any water. SO, I had to use a woven turf pad to absorb the remaining water. Is anyone else having to do this with Olefin Berber?

A couple of things.Has the summer been cool and wet up there like here on Vancouver Island?
Have the Salmon come in strong or poor like here? Now on to your issues.
I have found…new green stripe pads don’t work very well ie. absorb much, until they have been used and washed several times. and then work great They also work MUCH better when used damp and not bone dry.
Soft greenies don’t last nearly as long as the green stripies but are very absorbent
We like the BBC pads on berbers.
speaking of…..
Polypropylene berbers feel wet wet wet and then all of the sudden go dry. One of the keys is to not over wet them in the first place. A light spray followed by a few pass repeat as necessary is better than a real heavy spray followed by pad after pad after pad. Or if the carpet is a mess try a light spray, first pass with a soaked green strip pad followed by regular wetness pads
Of course, as always

What I think I will do is just start introducing more new pads! So, as far as the salmon go, Yeah, it has been horrible up here. The reds were very slow on the Russion River, Silvers, slow too. There seems to be a really late run that is starting up, hopefully I will get in on it. I got lucky this year though. Since I am now an Alaskan resident, I am able to dipnet. SO, a few weeks ago, I went out on the Kenai river, and netted 28 fish about 4-8 pounds each in about 3-4 hours. IT WAS AWESOME! I have a chest freezer full of salmon and halibut! It should last quite a while. That is if my wife doesn’t make me smoke them all. HE HE. Anyway, I know that all of you are pretty busy, but if you ever make it up here to Alaska, I am the biggest outdoor nut up here. I carry my fishing rod in my van next to my metal detector! But if you come up to visit family, at any time of the year, give me a call and we will go out, maybe walk on a glacier.
