I have read a lot of articles on ph and carpet cleaning and I would like to know more. Specifically as it pertains to our cleaning products. Maybe a good topic for an indepth future newsletter article.

I mix 2 oz of quick boost with 4 oz of 102 in a gallon jug about 1/2 full. (Mix the quick boost before adding the 102. Then I am ready any time to up the strength of the cleaner by adding to a regular jug of 101. I keep 3 or 4 of thes full and ready to go all the time in the van. Has worked great for me.

How would you go about testing ph in carpet?

You can buy Ph strips and meters. The meters can get a little expensive. I have used the strips on some stains to try and decide how to treat a stain when I wasn’t sure what it was. Cleanfax has some information on their web site that gives suggestions on what spotters to use based on the Ph of stains and fiber type.

I’m happy to see I’m doing it right! 95% of my cleaning is done with 2 scoops of quick-boost and 2 to 4 oz. of OD in the 101, Works fantastic most of the time!

I will use QB first. Then F.A.E. if needed.
