I realize most of you use the heavens best program. Most of you use QB or Q’ens in conjuntion w/ the HB program. What do you use? Do you feel it’s the best and why? Is there one best for experienced and non exprienced computor users? What are the advantages?

Gordon, over the years of me working w/ computers and my own computer clients. I’ve heard that Quick Books is better than Quicken. I personally use Quicken for my personal checkbook. However, Quickbooks is better b/c it is alot easier to use w/ taxes. Or so I’ve been told.

If my personal computer business was more popular than it is, I personally would use Quick Books. Both are real easy to use, once you sit down and play w/ them. 😀 Personaly I’d like to see us go away from the HB program and use something like Quickbooks. I guess I’ll have to look in to that program.

I use quicken 2006 premier home and business, my accountant (momy 😀 ) is the one who recomended it mainly because she utilizes quicken so it was easy or her to set me up. I bought quick books when I bought my apartments and did not like it i tried it for several months along with the old pen and paper, never completely understood it, with quicken home and bussiness its a basic check register with all of the goodies we need.

I too use Quicken….it’s very user friendly. I’ve tried to use Quickbooks and it’s not as easy. As a stateowner, I need to provide an audited financial statement for our state franchise license. My CPA has a “fit” that I use Quicken instead of Quickbooks. Patrick, I agree that Quicken is basically a check register that categorizes your income and expenses. It’s the professionals that feel they need to have all the checks and balances when assessing your finances. For tax purposes, I feel that Quicken is the way to go and very easy to operate.

I have been using QuickBooks from my beginning in 1999. I have found it to be very easy to use after the different accounts are set up in the system. When it comes time to pay employee taxes, etc., the program produces the amounts and checks. I have my business set up as an S-Corporation and at the end of the year my accountant just loads my info into his system, makes adjustments, and furnishes the tax forms. Works great!

So does QB’s manage your customer base as well? Like entering customer invoices and helping with newsletter mailings? I find that the HB software will occasionally go on the fritz and start “loosing” information. It’s basic and has worked for me up until now, but I need to take my recording/reporting abilities to the next level.

Jason is currently working on a program that will intergrate quickbooks with the heaven’s best program. I believe it will “take your recording/reporting to the next level. If all goes well, according to Jason, the program will make it’s debut at the seminar in LV. Jason didn’t go into too much detail because it is a work in progress. Hopefully it will take you to the ultimate level.

Hi all, Mike is right. I am working on a couple of programs that will hopefully replace the HB schedule. It allows you to keep track of customer database and will also allow you to customize newsletters to send out to customers. I’ve played with the program over the last couple of months and love it!

we are currently selecting 5 people in the field to try it out and see what they think of it. I’ve got one franchisee using it right now and so far he’s really liking it. I’m hoping to unveil it to every one down in Vegas, but we’ll have to see.

Please do stay tuned for further info.

Thank you Jason for your work.
So is it compatible with one or all… QB, Q, or just HB?

It looks like it will only work with Quickbooks. However, if you don’t already have quickbooks, no need to worry b/c we would be bundling customer manager with quickbooks simple start. This is all still in the planning stages, I’m still working on getting 5 purchased to get them sent out in to the field. It will however, allow you to import your contacts from HB or Quicken

Now, I need to know, our Canada users. Do you already have quickbooks?

I have purchased QB simple start (edition 2006) I haven’t opened it yet until I know what direction operators feel more comfy with. It’s why I posted to begin with. The receit is taped to the un opened box (walmart $89.92) just in case I return it.

I have used QB in previous businesses – and it is great! Very simple and very user-friendly!
