April 22, 2009 at 8:56 pm #153465KY13Participanti have replaced my pump a good 3 or 4 times. some have pulsated while others did not. this current one doesnt and i like that better. sprays out a lot faster
April 22, 2009 at 9:10 pm #153466AnonymousInactiveI have had two that pulsated and really hated them. I just replaced mine last week and it doesn’t pulsate. I like it much better as well. Maybe when we order them we need to specify.
April 22, 2009 at 11:59 pm #153467AnonymousInactiveI have never figured out rhyme or reason as to why some do and some don’t. Good question Tim.
April 23, 2009 at 6:06 pm #153468AnonymousInactiveI have had both also. The latest one has decided to take permanent leave of it’s function.
April 23, 2009 at 9:14 pm #153469pachecoParticipantMine pulsed years ago after I replaced the pump….well I think I figured it out for me any way…
The orifice of the sprayer needs to be changed sometimes. The tip may have been stopped up by a piece of grit or whatever. There are numerous sizes of tips for the end spray, and again I am a little surprised that corporate is not in here helping…..
Easy fix to get the right tip from a full service hardware store, maybe not Lowe’s or HD though, more of a farmer’s supply store. They may have the other parts you may need as well. Great for immediate fixit problems of the Ninja and extractor, if the home office is closed or not able to help immediately.
P.S.-One of my nightmares came true..both sprayers went out at the same time, handle leaked and they both were pulsing. We were busy and on one Saturday, got all working well, without missing a stroke. Only other option was to be down for a couple of days and no money….
April 23, 2009 at 9:28 pm #153470AnonymousInactiveI replaced the tip on my sprayer a year ago after I dropped the handle and it landed on the tip causing the cleaner to go every where except where I wanted it to go. It did not change the pulsing a bit. My theory is the pressure override switch is not of the highest quality. I just learned to shut it off all the time.
April 23, 2009 at 10:12 pm #153471pachecoParticipantI replaced with a different sized tip…not the same . There are a number of different sizes 8002, 8003, 8004…etc. I forget what I used, but when it pulsed, the flow was being restricted. To check this out, I removed the strainer (which might be covered with scum) and cause the same issue as well. If I took the strainer off and sprayed back into the bucket…no pulsing.
It may also be that the pump is bad…but at a bunch of bucks a clip, I found that it was not always the culprit.
We should have a troubleshooting guide with the equipment when it is not practical to call office or get parts…just an opinion.
April 23, 2009 at 11:40 pm #153472AnonymousInactiveThe little pumps on the power sprayer have a pressure switch. There is a phillips screw on the pressure switch that can be adjusted by screwing it in or out a little to adjust the pressure slightly. The Sure Flo pump adjusting screw is exposed, but the one on the Flo Jet pump is under the protective cap where the electrical wires hook onto the switch. I think by tightening the screw you increase the pressure and by loosening the screw you decrease the pressure. You will probably need to tighten the srew to stop the pulsating.
April 27, 2009 at 5:43 am #153473Bwaite77ParticipantInteresting tidbit. I never gave it a second thought.
I assumed it was due to the technical design.April 27, 2009 at 12:24 pm #153474pachecoParticipantNever heard that before either after many discussions with corporate…
thanks a lot Cody.April 30, 2009 at 7:47 pm #153475AnonymousInactivei never new any of that thanks.it does pulsate constantly with hot water hope this works
April 30, 2009 at 10:38 pm #153476AnonymousInactivethe screw does not have to be turned much you have to take the bottom of the sprayer off, pull pump out.you don’t have to take pump apart that helped on one. do the other another day.
April 30, 2009 at 11:00 pm #153477AnonymousInactiveTim, did it help?
May 1, 2009 at 9:03 pm #153478AnonymousInactivei have since adjusted both powersprayers.turned the screw on the pump.it does increase if you turn it clockwise and decrease when turned counter clockwise.one powersprayer is performing with no pulsating, even with hotwater.the other, well won’t cooperate,it only pulstates with hot water.play with the screw while you are spraying you will be able to adjust to your liking.i turned mine all the way.
