my power sprayer is 1 1/2 years old. when I plug it in it reads a fault on the charger. Is my battery shot already or is it the charger?

    Rich,
It would be very odd to have either of them go out. Like less then one percent. Has anything changed from the last time you charged it? Do you have two chargers, the old charger is opposite on the terminals. I had an old one and had to change connections(+/-) to made it work right. Is any connection (outside or inside the power sprayer) touching medal? Give me a call. Gordon

My guess would be you have a short somewhere in side. the wires and connectors in the battery compartment are can rub or get moved around and touch on the case causing a dead short and will fault the charger. The battery terminals can also touch on the area above the battery. Its a tight fit and if the batter tilts slightly a terminal can touch. I usually run a piece of tape across the top of the battery to protect that. Also its possible your switch has cratered and is shorting.
I find the batterys don’t usually tank. They just get weaker and the charges don’t last. A year and half doesn’t seem unusual for the life of a battery that is being used a lot

The pumps in these dang these are terrible and only last one year at best. I have had horrible luck with these sprayers. We went back to using a hand pump

Do you run a lot of #124 Orange Deodorizer through your sprayers?

I got a new pump and it has a built in switch on it so you can’t turn it off (you would have to remove batt. reach all the way to the back to turn it off). I always bleed the pressure off after use since they are a diaphragm pump. I agree they are difficult to work on for sure. In my opinion they would be better off using a pump manufactured by a sprayer manufacturer. They make numerous types for all kinds of needs.

well 3 months later, I have been using a pump up again. The battery didn’t get weaker, it was just fine and then nothing. I do use a lot of OD, and that is why the pump ups crap out so soon.

So was it the battery? Or the pump that was the issue

    I don’t know, I still haven’t got it working.
