Has anyone found a way to get the brown stain out where a plant has been sitting? I see them a lot and have never found a way to get them out.

    Rich,

When I get areas with plant stains, they are either from a water stain or a mold stain. The mold stain is darker and less rustlike. If you’re talking about water stain I use our regular 101 with a big shot of orange deodorizer in it. Let this dwell for 10 minutes or more and flush out with our cleaner and Upholstery Mate (repeat if necessary). Buff or dry the area as much as possible after this procedure. I get water stain out better than 95% of the time.

If you are dealing with mold stain, I have not found a good way to remove that. Also, sometimes plants are in wicker baskets. These create a wood stain, and we both know that we don’t have much success with wood stains.

    Rich,
    good post.

    Bryan I agree!
Except 4 to 5 big shots of O.D. (orange deodorizer), of course depending on size of area.

I always make sure to inform the customer that it is a protein stain and they are the most difficult to remove(same with pet urine). It makes you look like even more of a hero when you get it out. 8)

I have found that if the 101 cleaner doesn’t take them out I use coffee remover. This seems to remove them for me. Ditto for the mold.

We’ve also had some good luck with blood remover on urine and plant stains. It doesn’t work 100% of the time though.

I’ve ran into a some of these stains. Try high concentrate of orange deo and rinse and extract. You can also try rust remover and water mixed about half and half. Other than whats been posted no other clues.

Blood remover, rust remover or straight Orange will do the trick. If it is from the plant, then blood remover is the way to go.
