Does anyone have a telephone script that they use or give to new employees who answer the phones?
If so would they post them please?Thank you
GaryDecember 30, 2006 at 12:35 am #148387Tn02ParticipantI wasn’t aware there was a script. I have been making my own based on conversations with other operators.
December 30, 2006 at 12:46 am #148388Bulldog60ParticipantI guess that is part of what I am asking what does everyone use.

I think it’s in general procedures or somewhere around there. But, yes, there are some scripts you can follow. One of the first things I did 3 years ago when we started was reading the procedures manual front to back. It’s been a while since I have read it, but I suggest doing it, a couple of times. It’s the “business in a binder” so to speak or just look right here in the city owners section. Hope this helps. Happy New year.

Thank you
I was hoping that some operators would give me some more ideas of what they have found worked better or just other ideas.January 2, 2007 at 9:55 pm #148391chez6996ParticipantHello Gary,
I can’t give you exact quotes to use on phone, but if you missed “daveinpa” phone’s conversation with a call from a person price shopping, which landed him a pretty good job, you might want to read it. It was under Misc. tues. 12/26.
Hope this helps

Thanks I will.January 3, 2007 at 2:56 am #148393FL18Participantš
Come up with your pricing structure and then plug them into a script, made up on your own, or ask Cody, or from procedures manual. Then practice with a relative or family member, or have them call you or have their friends call you and give you feed back–for example–would you have scheduled or what would you as a customer like to hear. You can pretty much answer those questions your self.

Thank you for the advice. What I really want is what everyone else is doing, to hear their ideas and what they have found that works. I already know what we are doing but Iām always trying to improve the process and see if others have better or more successful ideas.
Thanks again!

Thanks for calling Heavens Best carpet cleaning, this is Dirtbag
Hi, uhmmm, Dirtbag??? I am calling to see how much it would be to clean my carpets
What do you have for carpets that you’d like to have cleaned?
Well, Dirtbag, I have a living room, a hall and a set of stairs that I’d like to have cleaned.
Is it a living room only or a living room and dining room combined.
Yes, thats right, combined.
Great, do you know anything about us or have you heard about Heaven’s Best?
You cleaned my friend Betty Rubbles home and she was very happy. Does it really dry in an hour?
It sure does, I’m sorry, what was your name?
Oh I’m Wilma, Wilma Flintstone.
Gee that name sounds familiar Wilma, have we met?
I’m not sure but I hear that a lot.
Anyway, The carpets dry in about one hour.
How does that happen? Don’t you guys use any water? Are you one of those dry chem-ical cleaning outfits?
No Wilma. We are a low moisture cleaning system. We use about 90% less water than HWE or “Steam Cleaning”. We can use so much less water because our cleaning solution does not leave behind any sticky, dirt attracting residue. So we don’t need to use a ton of water to try to flush that out. So the carpets don’t feel sticky when we are done. They dry in about 1 hour and we leave behind a very clean almost dry carpet that will smell great and make you very happy.WOW, that sounds fantastic!
And in addition to that Wilma, we vacuum all the carpets first, we vacuum all the corners and edges and we move most furniture. We work very hard, are diligent and very consciences. We strive to provide the best quality of work at a very fair price. we are all about value.
This all sounds so wonderful. My husband Fred is off work for a few days from the Quarry. Is there any chance we could have our carpets cleaned in the next few days? Oh and roughly how much will this cost?
Yes Wilma, we have an opening on Thursday afternoon at between 2-2:30.
Great, I’ll take it. My address is……….
If you can have all of the small and easily moved things out of the way before we arrive , like lamps and pictures off end tables and dining room chairs moved, we will look after the rest.
As far as your cost goes, we have a great special on right now for carpet cleaning. How large is your house? Is it huge? Really small or about average?
It is about 1700 sq ft.
Great you are looking at approx $1 million dollars.
Really? Thats great. Do you do “scotchguarding” as well?
Yes Wilma, we will discuss that with you when we arrive.
Thanks for calling. We’ll see you Thursday.
Bye Wilma
Bye Dirtbag
January 3, 2007 at 11:16 pm #148396Bulldog60ParticipantNow THAT is what I’m talking about!
Thanks Dirtbag!
Gary (Dad) not the SonJanuary 4, 2007 at 2:08 am #148397AnonymousInactiveš That was bagtastic! With that pitch you’ll not only get to clean at Wilma’s, but I’m sure Mr. Slate and the whole town of Bedrock will learn about you.
