but really for that kind of money (and a second piece of equipment) a guy might fbe better of investing is an auto scrubber lot more effiecient on the bigger jobs
November 7, 2008 at 8:37 pm #152836Larry youngParticipantJust talked to the folks at Ninja if this is the one corp is selling (ninja 1200 psi hard surface extracter) it does have an ajustable psi and can be operated with or with out the auto dump feature and fresh water supply (using the tanks)

You might get $1 to clean and seal but then sealing is worthless (clear sealing). Color sealing is the only sealing that I would do if I go back to cleaning t&g. Too many people oversell clear sealing. The product breaks down too quickly. $4,000 is a huge investment for a non Turbo Force cleaning system. Is that an extractor with the Turbo and accessories(hoses, etc.) for $4k?
November 10, 2008 at 4:27 am #152838AnonymousInactiveYou get everything for the $4000 (I think it’s closer to $4,200). This is an extremely powerful, and a system that you could do a lot of tile in a very reasonable amount of time. I saw this in action in about the greasiest kitchen I’ve ever seen. I thought the grout was intentionally a black colored grout. After this machine did the work, I found out it was white grout!
This machine and the products are the real deal. Do the math . . . even at .50 per square foot, it doesn’t take long to pay for this machine and setup. That’s 8,000 square foot of cleaning. It’s a no brainer for those who want to get into this kind of work.
November 11, 2008 at 3:03 pm #152839pachecoParticipantBryan,
In this economy, the potential future economy and $4k…it’s a brainer all right…
Still like to see the video. We clean t&g the old fashioned way…

I didn’t mean to trivialize the $4,000. That’s a big chunk of cash to most of us. I was strickly looking at the return on the investment possiblities. Only a personal opinion, but I think this presents some very profitable possibilities for those who are interested. In this economy I’m always looking for ways to improve and diversify my business.
I think that the home office knows of a lease company that would work with people who would like to do this but can’t scrape the cash together.
November 12, 2008 at 2:56 pm #152841AnonymousInactiveI too would like to see a video demonstration, I lost a pretty big job about a year ago because the old process just took to long.
November 12, 2008 at 4:53 pm #152842pachecoParticipantI would like to know if the attachment would fit the Ninja we already own? It has a lower psi, however, is it possible to work?

November 12, 2008 at 9:51 pm #152844AnonymousInactiveMost of us have invested close to $50,000 into our business’s (some more some less). We did that knowing that there was carpets and upholstery out there that needed to be cleaned and that we’d be able to generate a profit from that. Most of us did not scrutinize the cleaning process and products. We made a few calls and took others at their word and then made the plunge.
25 people saw the new tile and grout cleaning process in action and were blown away.
Our products work, our system work.Go out do some research in your market, find out what whether there is a need for tile and grout cleaning. Remember that just because joes janitorial cleans for cheap doesn’t mean that is what people will pay. We are not janitors. We are professionals. We have legitimate long term credible franchises. We can charge to the higher end of things if we can do a great job and service our customers. people will gladly pay us for that. It has worked on carpets. It has worked with upholstery. It will work for this. If there is opportunity to make good profit then $4500 over a couple of years is pretty small (a round of golf a week or whatever)
If there is no opportunity in your market then don’t worry about it. But wondering if it works is like wondering if it ever snows in Canada.November 12, 2008 at 11:18 pm #152845AnonymousInactiveThe regular Ninja does not have enough PSI to run the extraction tool so a regular Ninja will not work. However, many of you have not yet tried our new Hard Surface Cleaner which works well with the grout brush and the stand up wand which can be hooked up to the Heaven’s Best Upholstery Mate or to a regular Ninja. This new machine is really designed for large commercial accounts. It will work on small jobs as well but is really designed for big jobs between 5,000 to 20,000 square feet. You always have to look at the return on investment. Even if you only charge 50 cents per square foot, you can pay for the machine in just a few jobs. We are not encouraging everyone to buy one of these. It is just available if you are wanting to increase your commercial business. You may want to consider two or three operators who are close to buy the machine together. It is not like you will be using it every day and a few of you could pool your funds together and have a great new money maker that can be scheduled in each area.
November 13, 2008 at 12:09 pm #152846pachecoParticipantDennis,
All good points…however, my wife and I did travel the 3hrs to DC to observe/shadow/help Jim Dickey on a couple of Sat morning jobs on my birthday in 2005. Doing our due diligence.
As far as the investment is concerned, 2 Ford E-150s and 2 packages and the territory charge all total come to something way north of $50k….and $4200 is still a lot of money…. And our Ninja is beginning to have some problems after 5 years…literally falling apart. Light use only…
So, it may / may not fit for us. We will try the new cleaner and see if it works better than the old…we have a job coming up in December to use it on…
Thanks Cody, for your comments…well put.

November 19, 2008 at 1:21 am #152847HBPuyallupParticipantI would like to now if the new ninja produces heat at if you can clean carpet with it. I would like to have that option. I would then be more inclined to buy the unit if it has more than one purpose.
November 19, 2008 at 5:41 am #152848Bwaite77ParticipantIf it doen’t produce heat, I know there are add-on heaters that can be purchased specifically for that purpose.
November 19, 2008 at 4:23 pm #152849tn16ParticipantI’m not the best man to answer these questions, but John did have me put together an information page that may be helpful to you. You can view it here:
