Just a precuation!!! When you get your new logos for your van take them out and inspect every inch of them. Check for things like uneven cuts. You want the curve to be a curve and not a wavy line. You want a round head and not a octagon one. Make sure it is cut out nice. Mine weren’t and now there on and every time I look at the van that is what I see. Look at the printing and make sure everything looks right. I have some light blue streaks on mine that looks likes the vinyl was strecthed to much some where along the road. It’s not supposed to be there. I looked at another operators van and they are definitely not supposed to be there. Lastly make sure they put it on right. I have a enormous amount of bubbles on mine. It looks like an amatuer put in on. On some of the little lips there’s bubbles and along most of them. I could of done a better job. I am supposed to wait for a little warmer day so they can try and fix it. We’ll see. I almost don’t want the to try. Sometimes if you want someting done right you have to do it yourself. PLEASE INSPECT YOUR NEW LOGOS WHEN YOU GET THEM. Return them if they’re not up to he $1200 par.
October 13, 2006 at 12:17 pm #147710AnonymousInactiveheres my horror story! i received a set of logos, back in July, Scheduled a day off to have them Installed. Cody called me and said not to get them installed, due to the quality of printing. Luckily, I had time to schedule some work for that day. Waited until the got that straightened out. In Mid August, I received another set, Scheduled another day off to have them installed, They took them out of the box, held them up to the van and they were for a full sized van, and i have a gmc safari(aka Astro). I needed them on for that weekend because we have a big parade where 20,000 people come to town to see.. They told me they would have it done. Sign a freaking Rama, said they would get them to me and installed in time. On friday , the parade is Sat., they called and said they could have the decals to me on Saturday morning, would that help? I wanted to jump through the phone line and choke him. On Monday the decals showed up. I got a hold of the installers, that by the way, sign a freaking rama, found for me.It was one of those guys who had a guy things. Well the guy that actually was going to install them was driving a 100 miles to come here, his wife was pregnant and due, and he couldn’t get away. 3 more weeks and they are on my van. a few bubbles,a wrinkle, and the dry in one hour decals are 1/2 inch larger on one side then the other, and sits lower on the fender on one side then the other. overall it looks good, but what a nightmare. Also i sceduled 3 different days off.!! I feel we should be compensated for all of this, somehow.
October 16, 2006 at 2:13 am #147711AnonymousInactiveJust had my decals installed over weekend, same story on mine. Dry in one hour was larger on one side than the other. The installer wasn’t a Sign a Crapa installer, but a local guy and I think he did a great job. He had to trim the one fender sign to make it fit but did a good job as far as I can tell. The other thing is I thought Sign a Rama was supposed to include extra vinyl for the phone numbers, website, etc., which they didn’t, so now the local guy has to order the vinyl himself. I told him I would reimburse for whatever the cost just to do the phone numbers. All this five weeks after the original order was placed. I do like the new look way better than the old so the wait was worth it.
October 16, 2006 at 2:15 am #147712AnonymousInactiveOh the reason I had a local guy install was because the closest Sign a rama was 80 miles away and they turned the job down.

October 16, 2006 at 10:42 pm #147714AnonymousInactiveAfter reading all these horror stories I’m glad I have waited on ordering my new decals. Hopefully, they will have all the kinks worked out when I order my decals later this year.

The fact of the matter is that these signs are designed to be a walking billboard that people see from a distance. Yes they need to look good up close, but most of the people that see our van see it from 10 to 20 feet away.
Our new van wrap or any wrap is difficult to install. The level of difficulty is reflected in the price. If such signage was cheap and easy everyone would have it. Not everyone does have signage like our company now has. We realize that there may be minor imperfections in the printing, or the installation. Little imperfections we can live with. The major flaws in the printing or installation will be fixed.
Our van that we used for all of the pictures in our new material does have some minor imperfections such as a few bubbles in the curves of the van, some pixilation in the printing, and some overlaping of the material we printed on.
As we have asked for pictures after the new logos have been installed we have noticed that the pictures do not show the imperfections until a close up of only the imperfection is taken.
Most of the installations have been acceptable and our operators are happy with the new look and the responses they are getting from their new walking billboard. Some have had to take their van back to the installer for some minor touch ups. It is a lot like our business. There are times we need to return to the customer and touch up an area or two. That does not mean that our company is not good, it means that we are human and sometimes make mistakes.
We do feel that Sign-A-Rama will get their act together to the point that they will be taking care of these signs in a satisfactory manner. We ask your patience during this process. The changes we are making are good for the entire company. We are excited about the increase in business these changes will bring to each of you. The $1200.00 you are paying for the walking billboard will be a great advertising investment.

October 18, 2006 at 4:13 am #147717NJ05ParticipantGreat Response Cody,
My logos are not perfect, the dry in one hr is totaly different for each side but i figure who can see both sides at the same time any way…or when your doing 65 mph down the road…? The main thing is I recieved them and am looking forward to having them installed. For the most part i am satisfied with the quality of the logos….now I will see what instalation brings…!
October 25, 2006 at 11:33 pm #147718AnonymousInactivewow.i am now very nervous!i do expect my new van ,with sighns installed to be almost perfect.that is what i expect, nothing less!when i say almost that means a few bubbles, well ok. that is me,i have been that way,and it is not going to change now.i will set the expectations with the co. that installs them, clearly.alot of money invested in all this,i expect satisfaction!i will be positive, lets rolllll!!!
October 26, 2006 at 12:38 am #147719AnonymousInactiveI am the same way. Cody mentioned that we are not perfect and I agree, however in 2 years I have been asked to come back to exactly 1 home. I demand perfection in myself and ESPECIALLY if I am paying a lot of money for a product or service. Now, I’ve had issues with my new logos and as of right now my logos on my van are still screwed up. I am working with the local company and I expect them to be installed correctly.
Cody, I do not believe that we as a company should settle or accept anything other than a great job. These guys are professionals and they should know what they are doing. I’ve seem dozens of trucks driving around with similar difficult to put on signs and they look good.
If we are truly trying to take this to the next level then it should be reflected in our most important advertising…our trucks.
October 26, 2006 at 1:21 am #147720AnonymousInactiveESPECIALLY if I am paying a lot of money
At $1200 you guys are getting a bargain down there! It is not a lot of money.
I’ve seen dozens of trucks driving around
this is the whole point, our vans look great driving around, and if you examined the others up close, you’d be able to find all sorts of flaws
trying to take this to the next level
The next level was achieved with the logo and the wrap, not lost if there is a wrinkle or a patch or a bubble.
It is not hard to look up close to find flaws.
Step back, take a look at the BIG picture, literally and figuratively, then a deep cleansing breath in, out and smile.October 26, 2006 at 3:49 pm #147721hbottumwaParticipantDitto! I couldn’t agree more DB! From one member of the family to another… It is good to demand better of ourselves but we will almost always get disapointed when we demand it of others. Image on the van takes a back seat to the image from attitude. Having the confidence with a winning attitude with a good name will excell you above all! The van can be fixed. Can the image of attitude be saved and maintain our customer base? A bad attitude can destoy a business as quick as a sloppy job. Keep your chin up! It’s amasing what you can do with an optomistic attitude! Remember your first few months?
October 26, 2006 at 8:14 pm #147722CJonesParticipantAgreed, however in defense of what I think Ron is saying is that as a national franchise we should be able to ‘command’ a high level of quality in all our products & services. This is why most of us join a franchise – because of high standards & the power of numbers when purchasing product or services. Our buying power should enable us to command excellence. If not, then why are we banded together at all? If SAR is providing ‘slip-shod’ work, then we should command an improvement or we should work with another company!
October 26, 2006 at 11:11 pm #147723AnonymousInactive🙂 look.we all work hard, some more than others of course.because of that to some extent i actually expect my hard earned money to be spent on,usually quality product, when need be’and that is the case here .also services involved better meet my expectations.that is not to much to ask, is it.my van with my new decals better be pretty darn good looking.minor flaws, well ok. that means maybe a few bubbles.i have been in the service industry way to long to settle for less that mediocrity or mediocrity itself when i spend a lot of money,it is simple ,that’s it.i am pumped to get the new van wth the new look,it better be to what i expect.i am positive and always am,so i am expecting good results, boooooo yea!!!!!!!!! ps. i’m lovin it!let’s rolllll!!!!
