Can you post pictures on the bulliten board? Of corse you can! and i will show you how. Now to do this you will need some webspace on the internet, IE someone to host your files. There are many free places on the net that will do this.
Next we find the image we want to use, and put it on our web server. Once on this web server you will be able to access it via a url: example: http://extremx.blogdns.org/Hblogo.jpg will be the one i will use.
at the top there is an “Img” button, click it, than put the image link in, and hit the Img button again.
your link will look like this
and this is what it will look like:
Now, you can post any picture that is on the internet, not just your own personal pictures. Lets take http://www.heavensbest.com for example, lets say you want to use the man and baby on the front page of the site. I would right click on it and choose (Copy image location, firefox) or in internet explorer i would right click and choose (properties) then look at the address (URL) of the picture. The address or location for this picture is: http://heavensbest.radius3.com/images/dadoncarpet.jpg
so i would click the “Img” button on the bullenten board topic box and then paste the location, and hit the “Img” button again.
and we have our picture. Keep in mind the size of the picture. Too big and it will go clear off the screen.If you need help with this post a comment or call me and i will be glad to help you out.

Adding an image to a post
phpBB BBCode incorporates a tag for including images in your posts. Two very important things to remember when using this tag are: many users do not appreciate lots of images being shown in posts and second, the image you display must already be available on the Internet (it cannot exist only on your computer, for example, unless you run a webserver!). There is currently no way of storing images locally with phpBB (all these issues are expected to be addressed in the next release of phpBB). To display an image, you must surround the URL pointing to the image with tags. For example:[img]http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif[/img]
As noted in the URL section above you can wrap an image in a [url][/url] tag if you wish, eg.
[url=http://www.phpbb.com/][img]http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/templates/subSilver/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif[/img][/url]
October 13, 2005 at 9:25 pm #145374AnonymousInactiveThere is a free MOD that you can add to allow posters to “upload” an image instead of having to host it themselves. I bet no one will ever post an image if it has to be hosted somewhere else, but if you installed that MOD, then it would probably get used more.
