They arent meant to absorb the moisture like the woven turf pads. I too have experienced the edges coming apart.
December 6, 2011 at 3:32 am #154076Linda OrrKeymasterBut everyone is talking about how absorbent they are! So what is the answer? And what are they good for if they don’t absorb as much as the other pads?
December 9, 2011 at 3:40 am #154077AnonymousGuestOur pads are primarily designed to loosen soil and clean rather then absorb moisture. Your woven turf are the most absorbent pads. The micro fiber pads lose their effectiveness the wetter they get and are best when used dry. I have found the micro fiber pads work best on low pile and commercial grade carpet. You will not see dirt on the pad but you should be able to see the pads clean with each pass you make.
December 10, 2011 at 9:46 pm #154078AnonymousInactivei think some of the pad information is a bit off.
All our pads have slightly different qualities but they all do a mix of agitation and extraction including the micro fiber pads which are extremely absorbant . micro fiber is made from polyester and can absorb up to 8 times its weight in water. because they are so absorbent they saturate quickly so when using them you need to keep that in mind. This is also true of the woven turf pads.
For the best cleaning results a mixture of pads will work the best. always keep your pads from drying out when dirty by storing them in a bag or sealed bin. Wash as soon as possible. All the pads will work best if slightly damp.December 14, 2011 at 9:07 pm #154079AnonymousInactiveall the pads will work best if slightly damp ??? Really ? I’ll try it, looks like we learn something new every day 🙂 .

And yes they are more absorbant. when you pull them out of the washer they are still very wet. When you pull the standard green pad out they are nearly dry. Definately retain the moisture.
December 18, 2011 at 1:38 am #154081HB2003ParticipantI’ve been using the micro fiber pads for nearly a couple of years now. I do really like them, but they do seem to get tears in them after a while. I still think I got a ton of use out of them prior to noticing the tears/rips. I pretty much always use towels regardless of which pad I use. Haven’t noticed towels being dirtier from one pad to another. Much easier washing the micro fiber pads, very little picking needed.
January 29, 2012 at 10:14 pm #154082Linda OrrKeymasterThe more I use the micro fiber pads the less I like them. They are falling apart and I compared the actual absorbancey and it wasn’t even close to the other pads. Not cost effective in any way. Anyone else do an absorbancey test?
