I see that one of our new products is micro fiber pads. I have been using these for a few months now and really like them and my employess love them too. The thing that we had to get accustomed to is that they are blue and gray so you won’t see the soil that’s on the pad. But,these things do such a great job that you can really see the difference as you go along. We use the finishing towels on every residential job, and the amount of towels used per job has been reduced significantly because of the micro fiber pads. I highly recommend them.

How did you find out about these pads? Blind luck in the store, or were they mentioned on a newsletter that I overlooked? Dissappointed if there are new products being released that can help us be more productive and we are not being informed of them in some way…..
December 30, 2009 at 6:22 pm #154062AnonymousInactiveI just noticed there is a “new arrivals” spot on the left of the main store page. Don’t know if that is new or if I’m just blind and haven’t noticed it before. I know I’m guilty of tunnel vision when I already know what I need for orders so maybe it’s been there for a while.
Brian, are you using this pad in place of another pad or towels, or just adding it as another step when you clean?
December 31, 2009 at 3:11 am #154063AnonymousInactiveDave,
I use these as one in a series according to the soil level. Some of those very nice places that are not too dirty, I may use it for a couple of passes then see where I’m at with the towel. Most places however, I may use the dirt napper with a regular pad, or a bbc pad in first, then go to the micro and a towel. For those exceptionally dirty ones, I may dirtnap a few times with several different pads, go to the micro fiber, then towel. It kinda just depends . . . I just feel like they do a really good job. I’d be interested in your reaction after a week or two of use (that is if you get some).December 31, 2009 at 2:30 pm #154064AnonymousInactiveI have used a small micro fiber pad for my stair buffer for awhile now. I really like the pads. I agree you can’t see the dirt on the pad but you can see the difference on the carpet. Also, it has been my experience that they clean best when they are dry unlike our other pads which seem to clean best slightly damp.
January 3, 2010 at 3:36 am #154065IN33ParticipantHow would you say they compare to the woven turf for absorbency and overall cleaning effectiveness? The woven turf is my favorite at this point, but that may change…
November 17, 2010 at 3:48 pm #154066AnonymousInactiveThese micro fiber pads do clean really well. My employee wants me to order more as he loves them and often uses them in place of the BBC pad now. It almost feels like you are using a towel when you use one as it “grips” more than a normal pad. As others said, they do need to be dry as they absorb a lot of moisture, but they also hold on to it. This could contribute to the grip. I wash mine with my towels in my first load so I can run them all through the dryer at the same time. We do have a stair pad version as well. It works well too, but the teeth on the buffer plate will eat it up just like any other stair pad. If you haven’t ordered any of these pads, I recommend you give them a try. They are good.
November 17, 2010 at 6:47 pm #154067AnonymousInactiveThe micro fiber pads are working well and we have a lot of our operators that use and love them. Thanks, Dave for the feed back on your experience with them.
January 21, 2011 at 4:10 am #154068Linda OrrKeymasterI’ve been using these pads for a while now. I haven’t made up my mind yet. I had one come apart on me. I hope they are as durable as the other pads.
January 28, 2011 at 3:39 am #154069AnonymousInactiveI just received my second order of Microfiber pads and after the first use I noticed that the pad has one inch long threads hanging off the pad in about 20 places. not sure what happened because the first order worked great. Maybe it is just a bad pad, anyone else have this happen?.
February 4, 2011 at 11:24 pm #154070AnonymousInactiveI have had a few split open on the edges I inspect them when I first get them if there loose I call John right away let him get you some new ones.
February 5, 2011 at 12:58 am #154071AnonymousInactiveThe pad looked fine when I first inspected them, it was just after the one use that I noticed the strings. It has only happened to the one so I am not really that concerned.
March 29, 2011 at 1:57 am #154072Linda OrrKeymasterI now use Dave’s method of cleaning the micro fiber pads with the towels and drying them together. To me the best thing about the micro fiber pad is that it is light and isn’t so rough on my washer.
March 29, 2011 at 2:02 am #154073Linda OrrKeymasterI should also mention that I now have to use a bunch more towels. It is the only way I know the carpet is completely clean. The towels wear out fast and so it isn’t as cost efficient. Without a controled environment it is hard to tell how much better they work.
November 29, 2011 at 3:10 am #154074Linda OrrKeymasterI am finding the micro fiber pads to be way less durable than the other pads. With the other pads, I have accidently hit a protuding object and the pad survived without hardly a noticeable deffect. I have several micro fiber pads that have tears in them. I’m not even sure what happened. It might have happened with one of my techs, but it is something that never happened with the other pads. They do seem to grip like was mentioned but I’m not convinced they absorb more moisture than the other pads. Has anyone tried a scientific experiment with the pads?
