With me, and I think Brian does the same, I am mailing out to my existing customers. I have been in business for 8 years now,and have an extensive loyal customer base. I have a printer print the cards, and then label them and stamp them and mail them out. One of the things i did to build that list is to hook up with a direct mail company. They design your ad to your specs and then mail them to every address in certain zip codes.
March 30, 2007 at 11:02 pm #148516AnonymousInactivethanks for the info. Has anyone used the cards that are pre made on the corp website. If so how are they working. I think I am going to use the prep made corp cards and modify what ever special i am going to run
April 2, 2007 at 4:58 pm #148517AnonymousInactiveWARNING!!!!!!!!!!!! I prepared 900 postcards over the weekend and mailed them. I got a call from the printer who printed them this morning and the post office rejected them because they were 1/16th of an inch too small. The printer said that he would pay the extra postage for them to be delivered and the carriers said they still won’t deliver them. A full days work on a saturday wasted.
April 2, 2007 at 11:34 pm #148518AnonymousInactiveI send out over 1000 post cards sto existing customers made by a local printer 2 weeks ago and have booked over 25 jobs with calls still coming in. The average job has been around $180. $5000 in bookings so far. Card expires at the end of April. Some customers have booked well in advance to get the 20% discount on cleaning only. Cost was about $0.60 per card printed on both sides including postage.

They even gave me labels to print the addresses on. I am glad i have a professional printer do my stuff now. If i had printed them myself i would have had to eat the cost.
April 4, 2007 at 6:25 pm #148520Bret WootonParticipantAs I mentioned in LV, we send mailers to all of our current customers and our list gathered from homeshows. We’ve been collecting these lists for about 2 and a half years now and have approx. 900 customers and 1200 potential or “list” customers.
Our 1st quarter mailing ($30 off) this year went to all of those people and we’ve billed over $7,600 in the first quarter. We still have jobs on the books from that mailer that will count for the second quarter.
An easy way to do this is to find a pre-sort company and send them the graphic files and your lists and they can reproduce the mailer and mail them. In our case, we saved about 20-25% in cost and didn’t have to stamp or label them. (Usually an entire evenings worth of work)
The company that I use is called Metro Pre-Sort out of Portland, OR. Google them and maybe they can work with you remotely. My contact is Brad.April 24, 2007 at 8:02 pm #148521SanchiricoddddMemberThanks Jeremy, for the info , I called Metro Pre-sort out of Oregon and they said they could print and mail for me in Las Vegas. The cost would be .43 per postcard to print and mail as many or little that I need. Also the turnaround is about 3-4 days. This is going to be a great resource. I have not been able to find anyone that can do this for such a great price.
