Looking for suggestions on how to remove an odor from leather. The odor that I would like to remove is nothing more than, described buy the customer as “old people smell”. I have not cleaned it as the customer already has. She is just looking for a deodorizing product suitable for leather. At this time, I do not know the type of leather.

Sorry buddy, no experience on this one but I do know that once we’ve cleaned leather it does smell nice and people notice and make the comment. If she use “off the shelf” leather cleaner our cleaner may do the trick.

I would think our product would help, but probably not be the complete answer. Tough part about many leather couches is that cushions are attached to body of couch so it limits what you can do. If they aren’t, try spraying some fresh scent in/on areas that aren’t leather (back of cushion, inside cushion if they unzip, black batting underneath couch if there is one, etc.). After you do that, you could try bringing in a fan and blowing it on the couch. Spread some of that fresh scent around and maybe blow out some of the smell.

Tough one you got there Brian.

Thanks Dave! I think you have a good suggestion of spraying all non-leather surfaces with fresh scent. I will give that a try. I also thought about dampening a towel w/ fresh scent and gently rubbing it over the leather.

You might want to open up the batting under the couch. Bring your staple gun. If the old folks she bought it from had dry skin, you might find alot of it down in the bottom.

The answer may simply be to open the bottom and vacuum.
