My employees tell me that our 3 year old upholstery mate is leaking out of the exhaust port. They pulled the unit out of the van and only use it at the office now to avoid leaking on customer’s floor.
What would cause it to leak out of the exhaust port? The recovery tank isn’t full when this occurs. I believe there is a seal between the recovery tank and the upholstery mate floor. Could that be the problem?

One other note about this extractor: the t-handle almost snapped off recently. I had the bracket re-welded. It’s possible the welds caused a leak somewhere like a solution line from the pump. It was right after the welding job that the leak occurred. I didn’t see any obvious issues when I inspected the unit last month though.
I’ll investigate further when I’m in Milwaukee this month.

It’s the only thing I can think of that would allow water down into the vacuums. I have had several pumps go bad and they seem to just find a hole in the body somewhere and drip out, but never through exhaust port.

You hit the nail on the head! I meant to reply to this thread with an update. That tube cracked at the base and was leaking. While examining it, i accidentally broke the entire thing off. So now I’m in the market for a new recovery tank.
