Sorry if it sounded like a lecture but I re-read all of your previous post and I could not find one question from you, therefore, I gave no answers. My intent was to give you possible solutions.
August 19, 2008 at 3:24 pm #152457NJ05ParticipantMy post of 08-10-08 asked “what is intailed in the bag conversion”.
Thanks for the reply, I have solved the problem.August 19, 2008 at 10:25 pm #152458HBPuyallupParticipantWhat was your solution? This is the only thing that I don’t like about the hoover. But love the vacuum and durability of it.

Sorry! My bad!The dirt cup assembly can be replaced with a bag assembly. What this amounts to is the purchase of the bag assembly ( approx $60 I think ). Remove dirt cup assembly where it attaches to the vacuum base, and everything above to the spring attachment. The new bag assembly will attach the same as the dirt cup assembly. The advantage of this setup is all you have to do is replace a 30 cent paper bag. No dust, no mess, no odor. I change my bag every day. I think this setup also improves the suction power of the vac. because the cloth bag is no longer a filter that plugs up with dust. Everyone that I have talked to that as made this changeover loves it.
Gary, I again appologize for the lecture and missing your question.
I guess I was a little over-defensive from your negitive thoughts on the Conquest. It is a great machine and, by contract, we are all bond to use the equipment listed within.August 23, 2008 at 12:24 am #152460NJ05ParticipantAnd said conversion is available through corporate???
August 24, 2008 at 3:46 pm #152461AnonymousInactiveI don’t remember where I purchased mine. I’m sure John or Adam could set that order up for you. If not, I’m sure they could refer you to a source. Please consider this change over. It really works well.
August 24, 2008 at 4:34 pm #152462AnonymousInactiveI emailed Adam last week and he said to order the dirt cup assembly and in the comment section tell them you want to convert to the bag system. I believe it is $63.00.
August 29, 2008 at 1:24 pm #152463AnonymousInactiveI installed the bag assembly on my conquest today, also replaced beater bar and cleaned the unit inside and out. Wow what a difference it is just like having a new vacuum! I just vacuumed up after my black lab and wow!
I highly recommend going to the bag assembly. Thanks to those who pointed this out, good advice!
September 4, 2008 at 11:19 pm #152464Bill SquiresModerator😯 I was starting my job last saturday and hooked up vacuum it had no suction took back to the truck and took it apart found some rubber bands and 22 shell and bullet right by the fan blade, so I’m glad it wasn’t working right than. I’ve had my hoover for at leased 6 yrs besides belts and brush roller it’s worked great.
September 9, 2008 at 5:12 am #152465Bwaite77ParticipantGary,
I’m glad to see you changed your mind.
I’ve got 2 vacs (6 and 8 years old), and I think they are the best on the planet. After so many years of vacumming though, I have learned to use a paper respirator while running them. Hepa filter bags just mean more air restiction, which equals less suction.
Personaly, I like sucking the wings off a fly at 20 feet.Have a Great Week!
September 9, 2008 at 11:51 am #152466AnonymousInactiveRick,
I don’t use the hepa bags. Use the cheap ones and change them every day. I feel the suction is increased using the paper bag compared to the conventional dirt cup.September 9, 2008 at 12:25 pm #152467pachecoParticipantWe have the HEPA bag, just in case…
but if you are wearing a respirator to change the cup then the dust is getting on the outside of the bag and will eventually be blown off at least partially into the home or environment…
Easy and cheap to change out
We do not change the disposable bag daily at all. Depends upon use.
Hope this helps
September 9, 2008 at 7:39 pm #152468Bwaite77ParticipantI’m alergic to Dust & Cats, so it triggers my asthma.
September 9, 2008 at 11:36 pm #152469AnonymousInactiveI gotta agree with Sutton, definite increase in suction with bags!
September 11, 2008 at 5:22 am #152470NJ05ParticipantRick, I did not really change my mind, I am looking into an alternative to the hoover equipment. I just have not made the choice as of yet..
