I have a customer who owns a bar with all flooring being laminate “wood” floors. I know it can’t be waxed. Do any of you guys have a suggestion for cleaning this type of surface? It would be a good size job. Poor choice of flooring if you ask me. Especially for a bar. Anyway, I have done some minor research and found some info on-line varying from ammonia/vinegar mix in spray bottle, hot water only, no water/dust mop only, dust mop/damp mop, cold water, etc. etc. I have also seen some stuff at home depot but I am not convinced. I would prefer to hear it from a member of our Heaven’s Best community. Hope all is well. Let me know.

You want to sweep and vacuum well. The buffer will just push most of the dirt around. Then I use 101 and a regular pad to clean. When you finish you will see swirl marks on the floor. Use a polishing pad and the floor will brighten right up. I you do not have one you can use a towel but the polishing pad works best.

I concur with what JC said, for bar situation…
I use my dirt napper with a turf pad, gum freeze and a plastic scraper for gum. If it’s really dirty, you may want to spray some fresh water on it and suck it up with your extractor or mop up with just water.May 5, 2008 at 10:10 pm #152001Bwaite77ParticipantMike,
I’ve done laminate. Do like Callaway said. And when it comes to the polishing pad, you can go ahead and use the Red pad. It is quite safe.
I use the Red one on laminates that have alot of scratches. The white one is O.K., but not as effective on scratches. And it is O.K. to use the Red one on unscratched floors as well.

If you have visible steaks after you finish, you can set up and use a bonnet towel on the floor.
Put a little water in a spray bottle and lightly apply to floor while using bonnet towel on buffer.
This will remove the steaks for you.Good Luck
