😡 well this was unexpected.i put my buffer in the upright position and thought i released the handle and it wanted to work without me.my left arm was tested like never before.miracoulously i gained control quickly.this was scary, thinking what could of been.looks like now i have to turn the handle back all the way and wait for click.sometimes we work with so much flow that we need to realize what the heck is possible to happen.has anyone ever heard of this happeneing before.wow. i have since tested my buffer and it is ok. but on the job it was not clicking back.i am now some what nervous.i do have two buffers but what the heck.is something worn out,or wearing out.
April 12, 2006 at 12:16 am #146221AnonymousInactivewhich type of buffer are you one arm man-handling? if its a Nobels, the switch is known to stick.
Plus, Always make sure you keep the reps the same with the left arm and the right.April 12, 2006 at 1:43 am #146222AnonymousInactiveTim, every Nobles I have operated has that problem ( new and used ). I have seen this happen to three people within a year. Suprisingly, no one broke bones. The safety switch is a poor design. Everyone should be notified of this from the corp. office. I feel that a recall is in order. You are right, always make sure you hear the click!!!!!!!!!
April 12, 2006 at 2:59 am #146223AnonymousInactiveWe had our Nobles go through a period where it sometimes wouldn’t shut off, even when we clicked back the handle. Would sit there and keep clicking the handle until it would eventually stop. Had to actually unplug it to get it to stop quite a few times. Took off the back plate and tightened everything down and it stopped it for a few months, but it then started back up. With the advice of Big John, replaced the “black box” inside and haven’t had the problem since (knock on wood). I would give John a call and get his 2 cents.
April 12, 2006 at 9:02 pm #146224pachecoParticipantWe are on our 4th Nobles trying to get one right and the 4th one has the sticking safety release swith as well. These buffers are not quality buffers. My 3 year old buffer switch is fine and no problems.
They know they have problems..just not owning up to them unless pressed.

April 12, 2006 at 11:13 pm #146226AnonymousInactivewow,i will look at replacing switch.i hope and pray that does not happen anymore.mt helper is aware.i can see it now, hole in wall, broken bones, not mine, and upset costumer.i have since tested this buffer and i can see it has to be fixed. thanks for those responses.i know now what to anticipate.
April 14, 2006 at 2:26 am #146227AnonymousInactiveMy buffer gave me the same business . . . John told me that you can adjust the starter switch (the button you push before you turn the handles.) Make sure this is screwed completely down as far as you can get it to go. This adjustment worked for me and was a simple, cheap fix.
Buff on Dude.April 14, 2006 at 3:15 am #146228pachecoParticipantOur new Nobles jumped on me tonight due to that stupid switch sticking…some safety switch…hopefully Nobles will fix it before it climbs a wall like it dit to me and kill someone. Mine didn’t but it did hurt my back and it is fragile..
