I find the whole encap thing very interesting. If this is the case, this allows us to further educate our customers on the difference between us and the soakers.
Exactly!
When I originally posted my question I was hoping 101 did encap. Not only is does it clean and deodorize, it also encapsulates- Even better. That’s why the carpets stay clean for so long.
Mike-
You seem to be under the impression that I was trying to place 101 in some negative light. That was absolutely not the case, I was trying to see if an added benefit existed in the solution. If I didn’t have faith in our products I wouldn’t be part of Heaven’s Best. That said, I’m not afraid to ask questions, or maybe even ruffle some feathers in the process. I only want what’s best for me, my customers, and my fellow operators.
I like the positive rapport all Heaven’s Best operators tend to share with each other, and you are no exception. If you ever feel my input can benefit your franchise, don’t hesitate to call me. I harbor no ill feelings towards you, and I hope you feel the same.

Each of us have our own personality and we each express ourselves in different ways. Responses on this board are not about who is right or who is wrong, but rather it is all about sharing our ideas and concerns, our success and failure, and coming up with things that will help us all do better in the business.
Each time we clean a carpet we use our 101 cleaner mixed with 20 parts water. We always leave a little moisture in the carpet. This moisture consists of water and our 101 cleaner. Our cleaner continues to react until it is dry. This means that our cleaning process continues to work even after we leave the home. Any soil remaining in the carpet fiber that has reacted with our cleaner dries as a very fine powder and it is vacuumed up the next time the customer uses their vacuum cleaner.
The answer to your question “is our cleaner considered an encapsulation product” is yes and no. It does have some minor encapsulation properties, but it does not work in the exact same way as most of the encapsulation products. Our 101 cleaner is one of our trade secrets. It allows us to clean a carpet with moisture, but allows a very quick dry time. Once our cleaner is dry it does not continue to react or attract soil to it.
If our process has been executed correctly the carpet will stay cleaner longer than most of the other wet methods of cleaning. We utilize some of the benefits from a variety of methods to produce a system that will give us superior results. Is our system perfect for every situation? Of course not, but our formulation allows us to provide exceptional results for our customers.
Our formulation will provide great results if used properly. However, if you use too much or too little product you will not get the best results. You should be averaging about 500 sq ft of carpet cleaned per diluted gallon of cleaner. If you do not use enough cleaner you will be leaving way to much soil in the carpet. If you use the cleaner too strong or apply to much solution and do not take the time to remove the soil and cleaner you will create a wicking problem like the steam cleaners. You also need to make sure your pads are new enough to be removing the moisture, cleaner, and soil. A worn out pad will leave more moisture and soil in the carpet which will result in a poor job, and a stiffer feel to the carpet when it dries.
So in conclusion if your customer asks if our product is considered an encapsulation product you can tell them that our cleaner does have some minor encapsulation properties, as well as other technology that provides them with the best cleaning and quickest dry times available.

Thanks for clearing that up.
Neil,
Hope you got what you are looking for and wish the best regardless.
Ron,
You seem “convinced” of something and I don’t appreciate your petty and snide little personal message you sent me. Post it for all to see, you don’t seem to have a problem “personally attacking” me. When I said post a complaint or comment, I was refering to the comments and complaints tab on our website but you forgot to quote that part. Good luck buddy.
September 14, 2007 at 2:07 pm #150600Tn02ParticipantFantastic response, Cody. Thank you for the explanation.
September 14, 2007 at 6:36 pm #150601FL18ParticipantTo Neil, Ron and all the Heaven’s Best Family,
Today is a new day and I woke up with an open mind and good heart. I have a degree is Sociology and should have remembered things I learned when I was commenting yesterday. There are two sides to everything. I went back and read through and realized that Neil, Ron and some others were genuinly concerned about an everyday part of our process and were just trying to find an answer to better serve their clients and better themselves as a Heaven’s Best franchise. For all said, I do deeply apologize. I am usually a positive force on this forum and want to continue to be. My birthday was yesterday, 28 years old, and I guess the reality of 30 is kicking in. No offense to you older and wiser guys out there. I tend to have a hard time with birthdays.
Neil and Ron,
I value both of you. You have both helped me more than you know. Please forgive me for my childish behavior. I learn a lot from you guys and hoped I have helped you all. Thank you for your findings and research to better the company as a whole. I thought 101 was specifically a trade secret. I was wrong. 😳 I wish you and all the best and continue to pray for you and all on a daily basis. Have a great weekend and don’t work too hard. 😀
God Bless
