I think this has been discussed before, but I couldn’t find it so I’m starting it again. Anyone ever had any luck with iodine spots? I never have and neither has my employee during his 12 years in the biz, but if someone has a magic process/formula, would love to hear it. Got one next monday. Already told the customer it was probably a lost cause, especially since their maid already “worked on it” with some form of soapy solution.

Though we have not legged into carpet dyeing yet…you may have. You might be able to dye the carpet.

We just went into the condo and tried TGP and pro-spotter on it. Neither one did much of anything in the way of removing the color and we didn’t try all the spots. Be careful with iodine, it can bleed. The small spots she hadn’t touched did bleed color, but would not fully come out. She called me back about a week or two after our visit, and said the spots had lightened up and wanted us to come back and try removing the rest next time we were in the building. When I went back, they were noticeably lighter which suprised me. Tried the rest of the spots, and like the first time I didn’t get any color out of them. Hopefully they lighten up over time too.
Hey Dave, I would try red dye remover on it. This usually takes it right out.
I’m giving a suggestion with no experience 😉
You may want to try the de-color product from your dye kit. It seemed to work for Dirtbag on wood stain.
