    😯
Problem: pet urine spot on off-white looped, wool carpet. I tried flushing it out with 101. No success. I dried the spot and used pet enzyme. No success. Went back the next day and used our red dye and iron treatment on it! YIKES! It turned dark brown. Crapped my pants! Called John Steiner. We decided that we either had a brown-out, scorched carpet or both. In this case it was 70% brownout and 30% scorched. The brownout was taken care of with straight Urine Control and flushed . . . the scorched part was taken care of with a little humility! Lesson: No heat with red dye tx. on wool carpet!

My question is, what did you use to clean the stain in your shorts?

The best thing for urine on wool is red dye remover with no heat and let sit for 10-15 minutes depending on how yellow. Flush and extract. My experience says that it works okay. Urine on wool is hard and should be charged accordingly. Wool carpet can be price at $30-120$ a yard, one salesman told me. Very exspensive. I think most customers would like it out.

Hey Brian, just an idea and maybe you already do this. If you look on the web sight you will find the quick reference guide for spot removal. It’s great I have it with me at all times. If you look under red dye removal it specifically tells you not to use heat. You never said if you had to replace the carpet.

Thanks to all for the responses. I have learned my lesson. The quick reference is a great idea. The customers were very good about this. I didn’t charge them for the other work that I did and all is well. And finally, dirtbag, those are the only shorts I own . . . had to clean them!

That is just some good, solid, carpet cleaning advice.

    Always wear undershorts.
