Sent out 45 reminders for feb. got 1 appt. scheduled…can you say recession? Beat the pavement for new commercial accts. , nothing yet.

February 28, 2008 at 2:29 am #151591AnonymousInactiveI sent out 1500 coupons to the majority of my residental customers at the first of the year. We offered a 25% discount for Jan & Feb. This generated over 90 repeat jobs. You may think that 25% off is too much but I’m thinking outside the box.The advantages I see are this.
1) We generate enough revenue to pay bills and keep our employee working.
2) Our gas powered billboards are out cruising the streets.
3) We are making our competitors whine.
4) We are pulling work out of our peek season and putting it in our slow season, creating space in the schedule for new business growth later on.
February 29, 2008 at 2:17 am #151592AnonymousInactiveI did a coupon with a local val-pak type advertizer. Over 8000 pcs were sent out and out of this I have received well over 25 responses. Not bad for a $120 investment. I offered a 3 room/350 sf max for $85. Nearly all the jobs were over $130 including additional sq footage and protector. I plan to do a similar thing with a local spring home show in the near future.

I like what I have heard “think out side the box”. I have said it before the best form of advertising is a new pair of shoes. Just so happened I bought new shoes before the CA meeting two weeks ago. Have faith and it will happen.

We gave her our flyers and had her distributing them in Dec., Jan., & Feb. trying to anticipate both the normal time of year slow down and the economy. We got calls from neighborhoods we had tried to target for years and did enough business to at least match last year’s slump plus 35%. Not a huge increase, but with as slow as all the businesses have been around here, we were thrilled to be able to pay the bills. This same lady is starting with SuperCoups next month which in addition to a Val-pak like mailer, gives you a coupon link on redplum.com as well. With the internet being a huge resource for coupons, it’s a good way to get things out there for pennies per household. This particular SuperCoup franchise owner limits the amt of each type of advertiser in their packets as well as giving incentives on the back of the envelope such as prizes and giveaways inside so that people will open the envelope.
March 7, 2009 at 6:41 pm #151595AnonymousInactivewe have sent out 2000 plus post cards on jan 27th. 20% OFF IN FEB,15% MARCH,10% APRIL.last month would have been our best february since started in 04.we were off for 10 days and it was still close to a record february.march is looking very good so far.not booking a lot of new costomers but doing well off costomer base.we have even booked quite a bit for april and may.most of our costomers seem like they wanted to try to stretch out the cleaning till late april or may but some could not pass on the discount.others well,say we are waiting anyway with the nasty weather we still will have for at least 2 more months,can understand.i will say if these postcards are sent out,with the way they are structured,they will generate you good business.i know of my local comp,one is almost no work,the other shut down two of three trucks.his one guy called me and asked if i was hiring.i got some good info out of him.even with the so called recession they say,there are a few easy ways to generate $$$$ for the slower months.this is the one i like best. good luck with it,try it for march ,april,may or april,may june or so on.its guarenteed results.
