Here is a letter I am using to solicate hotels. I put this letter in a Heaven’s Best folder along with my contact, insurance and business licensing info.
Dear Management and Maintenance staff,
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read through and review our information. Heaven’s Best uses a low moisture carpet cleaning process that is truly Dry In 1 Hour. Many hotels in the area are beginning to use our services because of our commitment to service and our fast drying time.
There are many benefits to using Heaven’s Best. One benefit is hotels can have a rooms carpet cleaned and are then able to rent that freshly cleaned room the same day. Our process deep cleans using a professional strength citrus/water based cleaning solution without harsh chemicals or cleaning agents which leave behind sticky residues. This means the carpets will stay cleaner longer and not re-soil as quickly. Another benefit of using our low moisture cleaning is we don’t saturate the carpet. This means stains will not resurface after a day or two and carpets will not stretch or shrink causing unsightly ripples or seams.*** We would like the opportunity to earn your business by offering to clean one of your rooms, with no charge to you. This will give us a chance to show you our commitment to quality and service.
Enclosed you will find our contact, insurance and licensing information. Thank you again for your time and we hope to hear from you in the future.
Sincerely,
Ammon Child
Owner/Operator

I would like to know if you have contracts with any motels. if so what are their names and how much do you charge. we are curious what chains hb operators are working with, that is, what chains use local cleaners vs traveling or in house cleaners. motel 6 in humboldt got a new manager that did not like our services (pro steam). if we all share our corporate accounts we all might benefit. thank you and the letter looks great.
January 30, 2008 at 2:25 am #151462KY13Participanthey ammon are you mailing or hand delivering?
January 30, 2008 at 4:01 am #151463tx45ParticipantEvan, I’m going into the hotel and trying to speak with the manager. If I don’t get that opportunity then I’m leaving the packet with the front desk.
Daniel, I don’t know of any national hotel chains that Heaven’s Best is currently working with. I know there has been some contact as far as Heaven’s Best discounts when staying at a few hotels. I will talk with corporate and research what it would take to start that dialogue with a national chain in regards to cleaning. I’m charging $20-30 per room with a minimum of 5-8 rooms. Great idea.January 30, 2008 at 4:13 am #151464tx45ParticipantIs anyone out there currently cleaning for a national hotel chain? If so please contact me.
January 30, 2008 at 3:52 pm #151465Gary SpearParticipantWe cleaned for Motel 6. We charged $10 a room min 50 rooms a week. We had 2 branches doing 100 rooms total per week. It was cheap per room, but that was $4000 a month with no advertising. Motel 6 in Humboldt stopped using us (new local management was pro stream), but according to Motel 6 management, every Motel 6 in the nation has to clean every room at least 1 time per month. Management said they had new owners and wanted to clean up their image. That would be a great place to start becuse we know that they use outside cleaners. If we had some in Kitsap County, WA I would be cleaning for them now – as long as the manager is not pro steam.

At one time I had an operator cleaning a Holiday Inn at Cocoa Beach, If it helps I will call him and see if he is still working for them!!!!!

February 5, 2008 at 6:43 pm #151468TESTOParticipantHey guys,
I just cleaned for a Country Inn and Suites here in Atlanta, GA. I”m working with their management team on the hotel next door with the Ramada Inn. If there are chains that other hb operators are with, send them over to me so that I can have good points to discuss when trying to land their business. Also, in reference to pricing, I was told most hotels do not pay more than $12 a room. Would that be a true or false statement? Please give me some feedback.
thanks,
February 5, 2008 at 8:47 pm #151469KS07ParticipantFor the price of $10 per room what sort of service does that include. Do you move any furniture, beds that sort of thing?
February 5, 2008 at 11:59 pm #151470tx45ParticipantIn my area we are charging $20-30 a room without moving any of the furniture.
February 6, 2008 at 1:26 am #151471AnonymousInactiveWe try not to clean at hotels where there are only rooms. banquet rooms, foyers, lobbys, halls, resturants, that is where the money is. Rooms are cheap. Tougher to make money cleaning just rooms. try to negotiate a “package”
February 6, 2008 at 3:36 pm #151472tx45ParticipantI agree with you Dennis. It is best to try and clean the lobbies, banquet rooms, etc. I should clarify though, that a guest room takes about 10 minutes to clean and we require a minimum of 5-6 rooms per visit. $30×6=$180 an hour(maybe an hour and a half with time in between rooms). That makes it worth while.
February 8, 2008 at 5:20 pm #151473CJonesParticipantMan, how in the heck can you vacuum and buff down a hotel room in 10 minutes? I need to get faster – drink caffeine?
February 8, 2008 at 7:26 pm #151474AnonymousInactiveMost hotel rooms dont have do be vacuumed because there maids have to keep them vacuumed when they clean the rooms. I clean for the Embassy Sites in my area and it is a great account. I charge $25.00 per room and can clean about 6 rooms an hour. This is a nice account for us we average $2500 to $4000 a month on this account.
