InactiveCarpet installer at a new hotel due to open in 4 weeks stepped in carpet glue and walked across the new carpet leaving a perfect boot print! Any suggestions? I assume TGP first with a good flush. Has anyone come across this before?

InactiveI have. Lady had a runner down with that sticky tape on the bottom. It was pretty bad. I used TGP and it worked great.

InactiveDry solvent is the product I try first. It works best if you can get at it quick. TGP works very well. First, scape off as much as you can and/or break it up into as small of particals as you can. Use a light mist and let it dwell. Repeat if necessary. Always be sure not to let TGP get to the base of the carpet and flush completely.

InactiveDennis,
I always flush TGP really well with 101. Didn’t realize TGP left a residue that required Pro-Spotter. I feel Pro-Spotter needs to be flushed out with water to prevent it from leaving a residue. I use Pro-Spotter as little as possible because of the time it takes to rinse it out. It ranks right up there with liquid soap.April 26, 2006 at 10:53 pm #145510Linda Orr
KeymasterOK, what is the official word on Pro-spot? Does it or does it not leave a residur? 🙄

InactivePro Spotter for me has been 2 ounces Citrus, 2 ounces 101 and a tiny amount of Quick Boost with the rest water.

I think that sounds about right. My usual mix is ~4 ounces #101 the rest water. Sometimes I’ll add a little #102.
If that’s not working then I try a VERY TINY amount of TNT(heavy on the tiny)April 30, 2006 at 3:08 am #145517Linda Orr
KeymasterI mix mine 4 oz 101 4 oz citrus boost and fill with water. If needed I will use a different mix. I too used the 1/3 because of training, but then I realized not all spots require such a heavy mix. So now I use a standard 4/4 mix and adjust as necessary.

The third/third/third mixture is probably only neccessay in the worst of the worst situations. For regular, everyday nasty stuff, a mixture more along the lines of these is all you need.
As always,
